I have no doubts in Bill's abilities. But as @Dezoris mentioned, if a tuner is too big to send updates out, bad things can happen. I left FA20Club because of this, and now I'm questioning my purchase with @DeliciousTuning.

Again, I'm not saying Bill isn't a great guy and isn't a great tuner. He just seems like he's grown way over his head and we are the ones suffering. I'm now contemplating jumping ship to try out yet another tuner. It starts getting very expensive. I just want a good stable tune that I can forget about.

Hopefully Bill can send out updates soon. All this waiting is beyond frustrating.
In response to Innovate SC Update Tunes:
- I understand your frustrations BUT do I have to remind everyone that you are more than welcome to revert to a previous tune that you feel more confident in (that we have supplied), until I have gotten the updates out. May I also remind you all that is a FREE update and being upset about that is really uncalled for. At this time, being I have received so many complaints about not getting the FREE updates I will now be implementing an update charge on all future updates after this final revision goes out to everyone. You may not find it fair, but it is not fair for me to upgrades every tune (most of them being slightly customized) where each one takes me about 20-30 minutes to update. Now multiply that by about 100. How much time does that take (yeah a week straight of work or more) on something that I offer out for FREE. So with the final release I am sending to everyone, any future changes and updates will require a small update charge. Thank you for clarifying my confusion on how to move forward with free updates.

SMSAlSuwaidi, really... Wow, lets look at how everything has gone down
1. Your car shows up unscheduled so we can tune it. So now we need to find time to get it scheduled in an already booked schedule. B.S.
2. Then I request that you drive the car with the base map I spent the day on to work our any kinks (and never was paid for). Since I have been doing this for 15 years I know what to expect with prototype kits, kinks in the armor that need to be worked out. So you ignore my experience and want it tuned. B.S.
3. I schedule a SUNDAY to work on it, on the dyno. Guess what is has a massive coolant leak. So I wasted my Sunday, pissed off my family, didn't spend time with my 1 year old son I rarely see as it it and too boot didn't get paid again. B.S.
4. Now we are waiting for it to get repaired by someone else than the shop the car is at, so now we need to ignore local insurance rules and let someone else work on the car at our facility. What if something were to happen to that person, we would be liable. B.S.
5. Then when we tune it on 91 octane (on an already booked schedule, so we squeezed it in) we make more power than any other kit we have seen on 91 octane (270whp Mustang Dyno btw). Your initial response "Finally...". Way to spit in your waiters food. B.S.
6. Now I tell you to please drive it, to work out remaining kinks before the bigger power on E85. You take the car begrudgingly. And now I hear you have fuel leaks...

Wow, I am just amazed at your gratitude, how much time we put into tuning it, and was never paid for it, working Sundays and how much time it wasted from me helping other customers, like those posting on here. Thanks for the support... It is not fair for you to do what you have done, to me or anyone who has worked on your vehicle, it has taken time away from me and which takes time away from me helping others.

As for orders over the past month
- I have been taking very very few orders over the past month now, very few in fact so I can get moved in and catch up which I am still working on but getting there. But being as far behind as I have been and working on putting out good tunes takes time. Like I stated I am looking to get some help right now, but once again this all takes time.

Why I tune, versus others?
- Why should I do this, why should I tune? What benefit do I get out of being treated like garbage. Yes I could go and screw all my customers, but I would be like everyone other tuner jumping from car manufacturer to manufacturer as MANY others do because they are only looking at the bottom line dollar. Look at how many tuners have done this (yes I am calling them out). Yet I have been dedicated to the Subaru engine management platform longer than any one of them on this forum and EcuTeK far longer than anyone else, which is a fairly vast and complex system, especially on these vehicles. I do this because I actually enjoy it, with a computer science degree/mathematics degree I geek out on it. Maybe too much and it suffers because I can not keep up with customers. So I am looking for help now, but treat me like garbage.

In all, I do not appreciate the remarks, comments and "thanks" people have posted. I have been all cupcakes and rainbows through most of it, ignoring a lot of the B.S. But it has come to a point where things need to be said, if you are not happy about what I have said, I can completely understand but I would ask that you take a step back and think about what I offer compared to others and why you came to me in the first place. If you have suggestions on improving any aspect of my work a reasonable suggestions would be appreciated versus the remarks I keep getting. I am all ears...

I may not know all there is, nor be the best (I know many extremely good tuners in many markets) but I put out the best work I can (learn something new every day) and you all know that. My reputation and resume speaks for itself and I have realized I can only take on what I can handle, and the support I receive from the people I work with and my customers helps immensely.

Recent orders
As for couple few who have purchased tunes in the past week, I am currently working on all those tunes and will have them all out today. Thank you for being patient and for everyone else who has been incredibly patient, thank you. That will not go unforgotten.

Good response

Although the odd delay here and there isn't ideal, i don't mind waiting to have it done right. I'm also okay with paying for future updates.

From a customer, thanks for your work and time you put in

Bill-
I can understand your frustrations. I'm in no way doubting your abilities or even the hard work you're putting in. I went with you simply because everyone was saying "Bill's Innovate tune is perfect".

I was told that this is not a "canned" tune, which meant I could at least datalog and get an update for a safe tune. Even your website shows:

========================
Additional Support Features
Free updates for the life of the tune
Priority Ticket Support through our website
========================

So calling us "ungrateful" for something we should be getting, is a bit of a stretch. I just want a good, solid tune. I just want what I paid for. Nothing more. I'm not even data logging for you anymore, because it seems pointless.

I'm sorry you feel like we're bashing you. I'm sorry you think we're ungrateful. I just think you bit off more than you can chew. I still recommend you to all my friends, because I do think you're one of the best out there.

Communication goes a long way. I normally would not purchase goods or services from someone who doesn't respond to my inquiries but your reputation as an excellent tuner is what made me send you my money. With the exception of your last response, you haven't been on the forum in a week. I know because I just checked this morning when I posted. Calling the number on your website is a joke. I've never once gotten an answer. I've PM'd you here, posted in your Q&A thread, sent you a message through your site, all with no responses. I'm not angry Mr. Knose. I won't try to speculate the amount of work you put in because I have no idea. I don't think anyone doubts the amount of work you have dedicated to this platform. But if you could find a few minutes every couple of days to respond to us, I know I personally would feel more confident in my purchase knowing the support was there. I'm not opposed either to paying a little extra for "custom tuning" meaning you look at my shit and fine tune it better for my application, but I hope you reconsider sending out updates based on your own findings that would benefit all of us. Either way, I wish you the best and can't wait to install my supercharger this weekend and run your tune.

Thank you Mr. Knose for your hard work.

Well I guess there was a miss communication between what was delivered and what was expected on the website. That is why we have lawyers to make the vocabulary as near perfect as possible.

I guess what is considered a canned tune versus what is offered is where things are not clear. I do not consider it a "canned" tune especially with the amount of work that have been put into it and what you receive. Yes it is reproduced but it is designed to work on just about anything in any condition, with very minor tweaks. The word" canned" just does not encompass what has been created. It is an art to tune, just look at how many people actually tune and tune well, not many.

Take Ansel Adams, and I am not comparing myself to Ansel Adams as an artist but for how is system or producing art worked. He created art, reproduced it and sold unknown quantities of the same thing. So would this be called "canned", especially when he would make changes to his printing techniques over the years. So there were no exactly the same out there, but they are damn close.

Now as for a customized tune that is different story and maybe more of what you expected. For most applications I charge quite a bit more for this, as it takes time to review logs and send out customized updates. So what would be a better suggestion the use of vocabulary for the description? As I guess this where it is not clear to the customer.

I do believe, from looking at my files, you have an older tune, that was also reviewed from the logs you sent and worked well. So why not just go back to this one in the mean time?

As for biting off more than I can chew, you are probably correct, but I am sticking it out and working through it, a day at a time. It is just hard to hear the things you do and to keep working on tunes. I guess it comes with the territory.

Anyway thanks for the feedback. I am working on improving the overall service experience as it know it is low right now. But now that I am finally moved in, setup and catching up on everything, it should be start to get better in the coming weeks and months.

Cheers,
William Knose

Thanks Bill. Even though it may not seem like it, I really am appreciative of the all the time you put into the Innovate tunes. I have gone back to the original tune, but it's not as smooth at partial throttle. I'm not sure which tune I am more confident in at the moment.

For now, I'll just patiently wait until the latest tune arrives. Thanks for the response!

I think I have a beta version of your SD tune, When I purchased last November, it was MAF.

If there is an update, I would very much like to get my hands on it. I'm making a 5500 km trip at the end of next week.

Thank you!

You actually have a non-beta version of RaceROM version 5 which is no longer supported by EcuTeK. EcuTeK dropped that one on me about 3 months ago after I had completed those SD tunes.

Now with RaceROM version 7, they have changed to a VE based Speed Density based tune, which is now what we offer and support. The old one I do support but for any new RaceROM features you need to convert to the new RaceROM 7 technology.

Send me an email, and we can see what we can figure out.

Also I am sending out as many Innovate tunes as I can today. The revision is 8.58 and works well on the 75mm pulley, 91 octane (or E85 or FlexFuel) intercooler and non intercooler. It has not been completely tested the smaller pulleys to satisfaction yet.

Cheers,
William Knose

@DeliciousTuning any news on the EBCS between you and infamous? When I was getting my car tuned y'all were talking about the prototype.
Just so everyone who's reading this thread knows I've had nothing but great expierences with Bill. When I purchased the first E-tune he stayed awake till approximately 11 at night tuning, getting logs from me and then updating the tune. Not everyone will do that.
When I got my car dyno tuned same story due to scheduling conflicts my car was the last for the day on the dyno he took the time to do it right and it took us until 10pm till he was happy with the car. Made 233whp(mustang) on 7psi with the stock injectors.
Just be patient he's not trying to screw you but just make sure you have the best tune possible.

I think the community as a whole is grateful to have some experience here. And it's clear you are under a lot of pressure, crunched for time.
Don't burn out and don't take on more than you can handle. You just have to remember many people on here are seriously gun shy now, not your fault but you get some of the fallout from other tuner's failures.

I mailed you on your website to call me, when you get a chance had a few questions before I order.
