GTA Meets, Cruises and Social Events Thread

Just throwing out an invite in case anyone here may not know, But we are hosting a car show this Sunday September 14 at the Toyota plant at 1055 Fountain Street in Cambridge. Show starts at 11 am rain or shine. $5 per show vehicle with all proceeds going to the united way of Cambridge/ North Dumfries. Open to all makes and models but we want your Scion, Toyota, Lexus vehicles. Charity BBQ, and prizes. Last year we hosted over 300 cars, we are hoping to blow that away this year. I know several clubs from the Toronto are planning to join including the BRZWORLD crew. Come on out for a great day!

Have Cusco Zero R coils on my subaru and it drives like a rock...hate it for that ahaha

Can we get a fall cruise going? TSC just had theirs this past weekend but there were only a small amount of of twins there… It would be nice to get a nice showing before everyone starts to park for the season or get the winters on!

We had one last year around this time as well, small showing but pretty decent cruise.

Ok well why don't we get this started up. I don't know how long you guys want to drive for but I'd say about an hour cruise seems reasonable each way.

A place I always like driving out too is cobourg, ontario which is a bit south of trenton along lake ontario, there is a nice parking lot near the beach and it is a pretty nice and scenic drive out!

I would say we meet somewhere around markham since a lot of us live in the GTA and its closer to the destination.
The route I think would be great + I have done with some friends is as follows;
1. Take 401 to hwy 57 and then head north towards bowmanville
2. take break in bowmanville and then head west on king st towards new castle
3. turn right onto hwy 17 and then head onto lakeshore rd west all the way to Port Hope
4. Hope onto hwy 2 in port hope (get to drive past the harbour) and then keep going west into Cobourg
*NOTE* the leaders of the group will make periodic stops along the way to allow people to catch up!


I know I'm getting wayyy ahead of myself here on exactly what we should do but instead of just letting nothing happen we should just go ahead and get the wheels turning


We'd also have to figure out a date, it would have to be in the next week or two so lets try and figure out what people want

I would say the possible dates would be:

Saturday October 25th
Sunday October 26th
Saturday November 1st
Sunday November 2nd

Please Indicate what DAYS will work for you, not just one (if possible) so that we can figure out what can suit the most people!

Please tell your friends about this and, make sure they know we don't exclude other cars.
THERE WILL BE NO EXCESSIVE SPEEDING OR DANGEROUS DRIVING TOLERATED


EDIT: Forgot to include that we should try and make this a charitable event so it has some point to it! a $10 donation to Sick Kids from each person participating would be nice!

Ottawa community just had their cruise today! If you aren't sure how entertaining a cruise can be just go look at their thread to see how much fun these things can be, its a great way to meet people and get some seat time before some of us have to park the car for the winter!

@Canehda I think a cruise would be an awesome idea. I'll be available on November 2. Right now I have plans on the 26th. Not sure how long the snow will hold off, but as of now, I am also free the following Sunday, November 9th as well.

Canehde is right. We had ours yesterday and it was an absolute blast. We met at 9:30 am and got home at 7 pm last night. Had lunch and put 5oo+super aggressive kms ( we are blessed with many twisty minimally patrolled rural roads here) on the car and then said screw it and had dinner as well. My advice to you is to keep it on rural roads as much a possible. We always meet just outside the city to enable a better chance to stay together, have someone experienced in the front, middle and back of the pack. Good luck with this, with the right people it can be awesome.
