It represented a turbo kit on the high-performance NA motor, in my opinion.
I thought that was the case since I never seen any videos of it running.

Heres a thought was it even turboed at all?
Was it like you said, but as a turbo mock up?
using just NA but fitted with a mock up intercooler just to show what one may look like?
It just seems odd they never shown it actually running.
No details on turbo etc?

Ive seen a turbo mock up concept that was done but never fitted with a motor.

Its just a random thought that popped into my mind earlier on, when reading back thru this hole thread again.
I was just thinking it was a bit odd they didnt show more details etc.

Hate to bring a post back from the dead (why not revisit old material if there's nothing new to fight over, no?), but I found these videos of an Initial D video game featuring the FT-86G on another forum. Not as good as a real video of the actual concept in motion, but interesting nonetheless. Would love to play this. Wish drifting were as easy as they make it seem in this clip, LOL!

LOL! I can't take credit for the find since someone from another forum was who I got the links from, but I thought it would be nice to watch something new. It'd be a shame if we lost our excitement before any new news came in. These videos should help.

So this is the arcade version of the Initial D. IIRC you can buy a card with your ID and play/save your races after you played the game. You can probably buy cars or livery if you want, I guess.

Did you notice that there is the same Fujiwara Tofu Store marking on that FT86G?

Ichitada, remember that b/w you and I we had that discussion about running FT86 against AE86 for the infomercial when Toyota is releasing the FT86? I guess that is already done in this video game, eh? (although the driver of FT86G is no way like Bunta...)

Edit: OMG, this related video is so funny....

Oh yeah! They look your idea on the story. Sue em! LOL

Anyways, as for the Ini-D arcade, you can have up to 3 cars in the 1 card. iirc I had FD, Supra & GC8 (technically GM8) on mine. Ini-D arcade is fun... but tbh, I like Wangan Midnight Maximum Night EX blah blah blah more

Did you *buy* those cars using in-game credit or through other means? I wonder.

There was only one time I saw this arcade game in my area, but since I don't go to arcade that often I don't know whether it is popular in my area or not.

It cost 500yen to get the card from there extra 100yen to get new car in the card. As you win the race to progress into the game, you'll get in-game credit to buy parts for the car.

& where I live, they only have up to 3rd stage. Wish, they have 5th stage... I guess, gotta wait til comes out on PS3

That isn't being fair to twelve year-olds.
