I only did one slush event at Oakland. I absolutely hate that site. I'm more looking forward to AAS over SCCA like every year.

How do the Stockton events run since they are all listed over 2 days? Is it a different course each day? Same run reverse? Do you register for the weekend or individually for each day?

The surface at Oakland is getting worse every year

You may have less choices for what groups you can run with next year. The FAA is saying there will be no more motorsports at Marina after this year.

If i remember right (I have horrible memory ) they build a track saturday then run it in reverse on sunday. you have to register for each day. if you dont have your scca membership you have to pay for a weekend membership.

Well honestly that won't matter one bit if we get expansion for dates at crows landing next year. But also I feel like the FAA and others have threatened marina for years now so I'll believe it when it happens.

^That is correct (good memory ). Just wanted to add that you could either register for one or the other or both (with a slight discount). Either way, if you are not an SCCA member, you will have to get a weekend membership, which would cover both Sat & Sun (again, one or the other or both).

Semi-related, they used to set-up the track on Fri night and you used to be able to at least walk it, but unfortunately, classic Stockton form, people were jumping the fence to steal the cones, so they now have to run late on Sat since they have to set-up that morning. I really wish they would bring back the "Tarmac/gravel-X" events where they also use the gravel parking lot as part of the course. The surface changes were so much fun!

More than likely the possible expansion of dates for Crows Landing will all go through SCCA. From what I've been told by a few of the other groups the FAA is far more serious this time about Marina. It's possible they could change their minds, but the FAA has made it very clear to the city of Marina that there will be no more motorsports after 2014. I think that's new for the FAA.

I would be OK just running 8-10 events a year if they were all well run and all at crows.

I never seen rain during an autocross event before. If it rains and SCCA still holds it, I will still drive.

SCCA still runs rain or shine. It's been a long time since there's been an event in the rain. I think the last SCCA rain event was in 2011.

Also, SJSU Formula SAE will be at the event. If you don't want to work in the rain, give them a donation and they'll take over your work assignment. They usually ask for $20, but I'd bring a little more than that. They may ask for more due to the rain.
