Wang, airbag, and emblems went on Christmas day.

Went for a test drive and snapped some photos

And then removed it in favor of the stock trunk because winter

Boxing day I was off from work, so helped a buddy pull the dead 3UZ from his lava... or I swapped my car in an afternoon

So jealous. I almost pulled the trigger on one of their wings but decided to spend the money this year on others things so my little APR is going to have to do for now.

I've been looking at it for quite a while (over 2 years), but held out for Black Friday. All in costs were ~$1050 USD shipped from the US to Alberta. Not too shabby. APR is still a good product, I wouldn't ditch it if I had one.

Related to APR, studs (100-7729) arrived after a delay due to the holidays

Missing the race track right now... here's a photo from Strawberry Creek '22.

Also placed an order on a '23 Mazda 3 hatchback, so this coming summer the 86 will officially be retired from daily duty.

In fairness about 200,000 of those kilometers were spent on the highway at 75 mph with cruise on.
Still makes me very happy to see that sort of number roll over with zero engine issues.

Maintenance day today.

Fluids: Oil, gear box, differential. TRD motor mounts, Apexi air filter, and a full nut + bolt check on the car.

The shop recently got a tire machine, will be will be mounting my new summer tires there as well.

Car drives like new

In non-86 related news, I pulled my order for the Mazda and will be picking up a new-to-me 2013 BRZ come May. Quite excited and will be road tripping the car back to Alberta. Fleet total kms will be nearly 500,000 km!

Just look at the underside of that poor bumper. The joys of a lowered car!

I can feel the texture of the salt brine buildup on your headlights. So satisfying to wipe away with a damp cloth

Mine is the same. It comes like that from the factory.
