On a random note, I was able to price out a Scion tC to $40,000 on their website by adding all the accessories last year.

That should NEVER happen, especially considering they were non to low performance gains.
I just quickly did build my own tC and only came up lil over $21k

You've never seen the RS (Release Series) of "limited" tC have you... It was only cosmetically different then the regular tC mind you, so I see your point.

It's also the lightweight toothpick rods and tiny (therefor higher intake velocity at lower rpm) ports. Maybe a skinny crank too.

Traditionally that has always been an advantage of the FE engines, and partly by design.

I tried it out on the new system. Remember I did this a year or so ago, they had different features.

Here's what I got:

^ Scion is about keeping 'aftermarket' dollars in the dealer's pocket it seems.

I haven't seen that. I'd prefer a more performance oriented edition, but I do like the limited cosmetic differences too because it makes the car more rare.

My example would be the Tsunami edition Celica. No performance improvement so it's not as cool, but I really like the way they look and how rare they are.

Yeah, I have that problem in my hachi....usually what I do is downshift if I need to get up and go. Problem solved.

Wow that is a overpriced TC. A 3.8 Track Gencoupe is the same price as a fully loaded TC??? That is insane.

My thoughts as well!

This is what bugs me about Scion:

You can't have different editions within models like the Camry LE, Celica GT and GT-S, etc. But you can spend a ton of money on accessories.

Why not do the consumer a favor and make editions of the car that include some of the accessories but at a "bundled" discounted price?

Like the above car I priced out, why not make it a "deluxe" edition for less than $25,000? Absurd, I say!
