Ecutek knows what the problem is and will have updated software tomorrow that will prevent the Ecu going into this state tomorrow. This time next week they will have a another update that will be able to get the Ecu out of this state via obd2.

So just sucks because I flashed this file 10 times yesterday and didn't have any problems. Btw we know why I didn't have problems its but its complicated Ecu stuff...

Anyways any customer that flashed MY flash into there car having a problem gets their Ecu shipped to ecutek overnight on me. I'm also providing a rental car free of charge. Basically all you need to do is provide a proof of payment and ill Paypal you or send bank check ASAP.

John
Can anyone name a tuner that would do that? Damn not trying to get all up on your balls but that is customer service.

Anyways, still stands, if you have simple questions about your flash or rom feel free to bug me instead of John. Don't expect a rental car out of me though lmao I'm just here to answer simple questions haha

^^^ prime example for previous complainers (who have luckily disappeared for the most part). John's bedside manner may not be the best at times but nobody in their right mind can say that he has bad customer service. Up at the crack of dawn to fix a problem and making it a priority to make things right even though he obviously had no hand in causing it.

John, Just want to again say thank you for all the hard work you are putting in to get this tune properly done for all of us. I havent ordered mine yet, but just watching this thread for the last week or so has definitely convinced me to buy mine from you when the time is right (aka when the wife says I can spend the money..x.x). And giving everyone rental cars and overnight shipping their ECU to Ecutek is simply above and beyond your requirements for customer service. There are risks involved with tuning/upgrading a car that could include damage to the car. Running with the front lines on tunes and things is bound to bring up bugs and problems.

Again, Thank you for your outstanding work and customer service.

So, I am one of the people with the "issue", and here's my rant....

As responsible adults we all need to realize once you plug that dongle into your odb2 you have made a decision to accept the good and bad that comes with it. There's no going back, and there's no crying. Sometimes bad things will happen to people with good intentions. Last night, it was me. Does it suck? a little but crying wont fix anything. I made that decision and I live with the risk.
/rant

Now the good..

I tried to contact John last night, but luckily for him, he got his sleep quota for the week when he passed out at the keyboard mid mailing of the flashes, so he didn't get them all out last night. I however rolled snakeyes, couldn't sleep, and installed the tune on my car.

John sent me 2 texts the minute he saw my missed calls and posts to call him. That was 5 hours after he went to sleep. I called him back after a normal human's allotted dose of 7 hours in bed.

We immediately started working on my car with me tethering my laptop to my cell for internet access, and he remotely started working on it. After an hour or 2 between talking to me and ecutek, several photos, and a video later we called it off, and put it in the hands of EcuTek.

John then got back to me and told me I had the option of yanking the ECM and sending it to them, or wait for a code fix with the faster and more bulletproof option being the first option. I elected to do it, and set to work on my car. Besides, I had nothing better to do this afternoon, and sometimes messing around with your car can be fun.

He is paying for my rental, and the overnight shipping to ecutek and has kept in touch with me through the whole process.

so, does it suck my car is down, yes... Has John's customer service been awesome to this point? yes. When all is said and done would I go this route again? Yes.

Lol john can be a little short and blunt at times but at the end of the day questions get answered and shit gets done.

P.S. if anyone else has flashed their car, and had it go down.. PM me for instructions on how to get to, and remove the ECM. I was in an extreme rush today to get a rental car, and get my ECM shipped out so I didn't take photos for a DIY, but I will do a Reverse DIY when my comp comes back from ecutek.

From the first post at www.ecutek.com

It's under their downloads, but I wouldn't install anything until john gives the OK.
