RCE or Swift than. both go about an inch where is as low as you can without screwing up geometry and needing way more suspension stuff to try to counteract it seems.

Burning oil is a pretty unique smell that is easy to detect, especially when it's repeatable by hard acceleration over 4k and then rolling your window down. Also while it's not always easy to see evidence of burnt up oil on the overpipe, if you take a paper towel to the bottom part of the OEM plate while the car is cold it will tell you if it's leaking if the paper towel gets oily residue on it.

Yeah, it's interesting how it's such a mixed bag of people that do or don't have the issue. At first I didn't think it was related to production dates, but now it seems like the cars that were made earlier don't have the issue, and then the problem started happening months later into the manufacturing.

You have a point about the price, I'm not sure how much they are looking to sell these for. Plus, the automatic versions of these cars are immune to this issue since they don't have this plate.
Yeah, it never really smelled like oil which is why I didnt look to hard into it. But also I didnt know this problem was only for manuals, so it definitely isnt oil for me then. Lol

Any one is the past or present has faced taillight condensation problem? If yes, what did you do? I went to Subaru yesterday and they are all acting like kids, as if its cool to have small problems like taillight condensation, speakers rattling, fuel pump chirping problem...they are like ahh...this won't take the driving experience away from you..its a brilliant car...oh you have got nice exhaust....I was like STFU fool, I know all those awesome things about my car. Just get my car fixed under warranty. They don't have a TSB issued for taillight condensation, so they are going to find out. For the rest of the problems, they did nothing except saying- oh we were not able to replicate the problem so can't do anything!

I hate this part of Stevens Creek Subaru. Its all talking and no work.

Any sugguestions how to deal with taillight condensations. One thing at a time.

A different dealership is in order. Livermore Subaru has fixed the condensation issue.

Link to the TSB is in the first post in this thread. Print that out and take it in.

anyone available to do a track day this Sunday, I have one free coupon for SOWS in SoCal courtesy of CSG. I can't use it as I have other plans that day. See my post in the NorCal Buy/Sell thread.

I fixed it myself. Remove tail light, soak up excess water inside the tail with a towel. hit it with hair dryer and when completely dry, replace foam gasket with a thicker version of it. Apply weatherseal silicone caulking around gasket for watertight seal. Check out the thread posts by wdninja I think it is, within the larger tail light condensation thread and also his DIY thread post.
