I did my first at 3000. Switched to Pennzoil Ultra 5w-20. I will run this for the 7500 interval, and then do a UOA.. I may try Motul 300v in the future.. Depends on the UOA.

ok, so I have two of you that want proecu kits. I sent 12 out today, so I have 5 left, and two are going to Mazda customers this week. So that means first to the shop gets the last one I have in stock!

BTW, I will be at the shop this weekend working on the race car, so if any of you that wanted tuning for the deal price want to swing by, thats fine, just let me know

I think that failure would be worse, because it's hard to detect, than one of the lines breaking and dumping all of your oil.

My advise would be to buy quality, get an oil pressure gauge, and keep an eye on the whole system. If something looks degraded/broken, its better to fix it before the whole thing fails. With the Perrin system you can twist off the adapter and replace the filter&oil to limp home should something go wrong, which is a nice safety net. I need to re-read the C stock rules, but I'll probably be getting one of those later this spring.

That PU "Penzoil Ultra" 5W-20 is a good oil. I went with TGMO “Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” 0W-20 for the first change and I have some Eneos Sustina 0W-20 for the next one. Should have done it the other way around but couldn't find the Sustina at a good price (it is expensive) when I did the first OC.

Mazda GF-5 0W-20 (made by Idemitsu) is suppose to be good oil at a decent price with higher VI (viscosity index) numbers than the dealership Subaru oil (also Idemitsu oil) so I might try that one next time if I can score a case at a good price at one of the dealers.

@johatan25 In case you are considering what oil to use...check out "Bob is the Oil Guy" website: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...s.php?ubb=cfrm -- CATERHAM is the xpert on 0W-20 oils and a year ago he did comparisons of all the brands and listed them in order of his preference. Eneos Sustina and TGMO were top rated at the time but, they say the newer API SN Toyota oil is not the same as the older SM oil that was tested in the past. New stuff has a "trinuclear moly" formula that replaces the actual molybdenum content our factory oil was loaded with. Speculation is the Toyota oil is made by Exxon now meeting the Toyota specifications. I tried to find the original post. If I come across it I will update. Anyway, BITOG website is a good oil reference site for sure!!! Oil is oil as far as molecular structure but there are different grades of base oils and it is the "additive" packages that differ among manufactures that distinguish performance characteristics. Just about everything you need to know about oil and more is on BITOG!

I missed that thread. His problem is not that the pressure is changing with the RPM, it's that he didn't measure it without the cooler and with the cooler. He dosen't know what changes have been made to the car, so unless someone with a stock vehicle steps up with some numbers he won't have a baseline to compare with. As long as you keep an eye on everything it should be alight, it's just that an oil cooler won't be as fire-and-forget as an exhaust.

That site has _way_ to much information! Every time I would change the oil in my other Subarus I'd spend an hour or three reading BITOG, get totally confused, and end up with Rotella.
