disclaimer - Gen driver was not the owner, but that is a 2011 3.8 track with Agency exhaust, BC coils, eibach sways, and 245/275 tires. that car is bad fast when Ed drives it. i have a little more experience than that driver but i still consider myself novice as well. point is the FRS can hang on track. The V6 Gen is a faster car obviously.

Lets hope the BRZ fills what I want which is really just a good feeling car that drives well. Once my gf finishes college and can contribute to bills I think I will get a new toy. Here is to hoping she will let me get an R8.

The BRZ is supposed to be a fun little toss around car that gets great gas mileage and looks really nice. What else could you really ask for? I doubt anybody is getting this car thinking it is a race car. Anyways how is driving in a straight line supposed to be fun unless you have much more power than either of these cars have?
you're buying her a house?! phuk you better lock that sh*t down

Now you have more time with your car, so what do you think about FRS as a track car and daily driver? Are you happy for your decision?

i actually daily drive it more than i want to. i will say as a track car for me it's a better training car than the gen. way more feedback for me. the FRS will bite back hard if you mess up, it also makes you pay for being too slow. with more seat time i'll be fine. but the FRS gets in my head more than the gen did. i feel like i'm gonna spin every corner in the FRS. i would urge novices to run the crap outta the stock tires. they aren't there to learn how to drift. they are there to learn how to drive. very progressive as far as grip and let go. great feedback when learning to go faster.

So badcompany235 are you saying the GC feels more stable on track and less likely to bite you in the ass?

for me yes. for others that's up to them. the GC can bite you just as bad, it's more confidence inspiring and goes faster. the FRS just seems to give you more feedback earlier because of the way the car is designed. you have to work harder in the FRS unless you are already a pro driver and can get 100% of a gen. getting 80% of the FRS is scary compared to the gen's 80%. 100% in the FRS is inspiring. haven't done 100% in a stock gen so it's not exactly fair. but i've never been scared by the gen.

I like that you find the GC more confidence inspiring though. It sounds like Hyundai went with a safer setup like how Subaru made the BRZ more stable with added understeer.

The Genesis looks like the big brother to the FRS/BRZ in those pics. It definitely is the Supra by Hyundai.

FR-S vs Genesis 2.0t..

I am now tired defending the FR-S.. lol..

Here's the last thing he said..

Quote:
You can have more fun with the Genesis because:

1) It is faster
2) It stops faster
3) Handles Better
4) Gets the same MPG

Yeah one thing I've found on various forums is people love to hate on the BRZ/FR-S. The Genesis Couple forums are the same way, most of them all feel the car is better than the BRZ/FR-S in every category. It's not even worth trying on most forums.

On the Gencoupe forums many of them have said that the FRS/BRZ handles better but a lot of them wasn't convinced in switching to the FRS/BRZ because of other reasons other than handling.
