Possibly stupid or already-answered question: If we purchase this kit now, or pre-carb approval, will we be able to get the 'stamp' of carb approval after it has been approve? Or will there be changes to have this SC meet those standards?

You might want to post that in perrin's official thread, this one was created for skatery1989's install-- hard to tell though

Can you explain what's wrong with the AVO Silicone intercooler pipes? I see no issue with them, IMO it's they're a better more expensive setup than some tig'd together cheap alloy tubing without bead-rolled ends that the vortech/perrin photo's showed.

I used to run weld beads at the end of alloy cooler pipes to keep the couplers on, but I then purchased a bead roller... you'd hope that Vortech would finish the pipes correctly, I guess time will tell when they're finished with the gineau-pig stage.

For people who say I piss on this or other SC threads, here is an example of what is going on and it definitely its NOT pissing on this thread. It also has nothing to do with saying the SC kit is bad or wrong.

This is the type of random jab Gem takes at other kits that are completely baseless and wrong. What you see here is a knowledgeable person who wants to STOP the misinformation from going around. Since when wanting more power out of your FI kits REQUIRES metal tubing? Why do you say "are willing" like it is a risk?

Gem implies there is a problem with silicone tubing for a FI kit. (Casually, AVO uses non-metal tubing ) AVO's silicone lines are wire reinforced to start, and are rated to 50 psi. So just like JP I ask, what is wrong with AVO reinforced lines? (The answer is NOTHING, they work exactly as; if not better than the SS tubing).

Anyone here who is planning on going over 50 psi, please don't buy the AVO kit! (Or any other FI kit for that matter, just get yourself some nice sleeping pills and dream it off!)

Some of these ultra retarded posts I see here will get you banned, societally from many a m3 board!

As we see, vendors will need to decide if they want to take the business or turn it away in the name of a more expensive ideally better made american made kit is why they think they can command more for their product over the other guy. So far the majority of folks want a product from a little known vendor who has little to no forum involvement, cool.

There will be alot of guys who buy a kit they think they can afford, realize its not all it was cracked up to be, and then sell it on ebay before stepping up to a solution that works.
What mileage warranty does AVO give, oh none,
and innovate? oh they have none either. huh. what maybe 12 month 12,000 miles? at best? if youre lucky? remember we put on 800 miles a week.
yeah.
Vortech.
not too many other choices for someone who demands true reliability

Really tho, to want a kit thats not yet real, has no real numbers, and has not even come close to Beta test let alone track test,is holding your breath

Last word for me is what systems survive triple digit temps, which ones dont detonate out, which ones dont overheat?
peak power is not what will win my dollars

reliability, unlimited mile warranty, these win my faith, but by all means go strap a garret to yours, buddy!

as a stick driver, i know better than to ask for peak TQ from a horizontally opposed four
all the V8 drivers just need to learn to downshift

this says alot about the driving style of the group too
this aint rennlist.org

"I want to put my foot down and go in sixth gear"

..fucking noobs...learn to downshift and drive a racecar, not just park sideways at the grocery store..

you want inline 6 turbo power from this poor four banger, and there are vendors trying to bring you that early on TQ, but it will cost you the win on the track.
many folks will end up wit builds that do not pass the Phoenix litmus test
lots of folks will be happy with cheaper inferior product
Inno0vate has more drag, is putting out a hotter charge, heck stage one doesnt even have an IC on a FI system,? line right up folks!

WTF? if people are okay with that, good for them. LOL
its pretty funny to watch, like a freight train wreck
you just cant look away

No car manufaturer sells cars suggesting these cars are fine for use unless youre traveling thru Phoenix, so I am with 2forme, the last word is who who gets their ass towed off the track, and who finishes first with the shorter lap time.

Looking forward to tracking with the Innvate and AVO builds, say when and where
WTF I'm gonna go ahead and guess you work for Vortech or something...
As for Avo's kit, they are REALLY well known and famous in the Subaru world for turbo kits, they have an Impreza running 200k miles with one of their turbo kits from day one. with the testing they are doing and the reputation they have, I can surely trust what they make. they have been reporting progress on their FRS kit since they started.

I hope you are some sort of famous super qualified engineer to be talking all the crap you are talking around this forum, cuz I surely trust 1 billion times more what a company like AVO says with their reputation than some RANDOM dude that knows how to create an account on a forum a starts talking crap behing his computer.

The one thing holding me back from the AVO kit is the aftermarket manifold that removes the cats. Any offerings at the moment remove at least one cat. Like I said before, it is against federal law to remove the cats. Regardless of state regulations, messing with the cats is only going to cause you trouble. That is, unless you use the car only for the track.

I find things I really like about each of the kits I see. But there is always a deterrent. Scavenge pumps, poor turbo location, removal of cats, removing washer fluid bottle...

I can at least say, though the Vortech is way down on power and potential, it does meet most of the requirements I'm looking for, with very minimal drawbacks. So that's good.

I feel like the arguing has gotten a bit out of control here. I'm enjoying the R&D, and the openness provided by the several vendors here. But the banter needs to stop.
