I doubt it'll be a good as some of the aftermarket parts for track use (Showa's are GREAT but the chances that a TRD part will really be tuned specifically for the track isn't likely, it's not the target market), but I'm guessing they'll be very good for the street.

I'll leave mine stock until I have at least 2-3 weekends at the track under it's belt so I can see what I feel it needs changed. It's said to understeer, but it's mac strut so with a few upper plates we should be able to have caster and camber adjustability and toe adj stock of course, so alignment can tune some of that out. After that it'll depend on what the aftermarket provides for me. I'm a huge fan of custom Koni's with custom rate springs and threaded sleeves over the normal JDM brands that tend to favor understeer, or Penske, N1 type Showas, etc over that.. but that's serious money..

Whatever it is, whenever someone buys them I'd love for that person to send them to Koni to have them tested on their shock dyno, that's where most of the entry to mid level JDM stuff shows it's weaknesses. High end Showa shocks are flat out amazing, so if the TRD stuff uses something like that.. it should be impressive if they sorted spring rates well (and if not, just get custom rate springs).

Also they'd be able to provide spring rates I believe, which I'm not sure if TRD releases. I have a problem buying anything performance related with only marketing statements :P
Not sure about TRD USA, but, TRD Japan's suspension stuff is serious fucking business.

At the risk of pooing in everyone's pie here...

1. The areo parts are nice... mixed feelings on the pointless dual tips... love the duck bill spoiler, but surprised to see no park bench.

2. Door sill spacer/stabilizer...? Um. Okay.

3. High flow panel filter and axle back exhaust... um, yeah, thanks for nothing Toyota. So much for a TRD blower, at least for now.

4. All the suspension parts are kinda nice, but they will be overpriced (and in all probablity, less sporty) relative to the plethora of similar aftermarket items that will become available. I'm all for factory tuned springs and shocks, because they already did all the testing (theoretically) to make sure it suits the car, but those coilovers will be expensive as hell and just a relabled set made by someone else anyway.

It's not a bad list for starters, but nothing requiring a fresh pair of underpants.

When I see FI options with factory reflashes, then I may soil myself... at the moment I am underwhelmed... sigh.

What do headers test pipes/high flow cats and better intakes usually make on these subaru motors? Someone will probably make things like that at some point...

Can we hope for more than another 10-15 whp without a tune?

Also, newer Toyota ECUs tend to be less tuner friendly... hopefully a proper tuning solution will be available thanks to platforms used for Subaru (Cobb?)...

Relax. Everything in time. They turbo will eventually come, and crap... there are likely to be turbo kits or right out swap kits within months of release. Non issue. Do you expect them to debut everything at once? Then what? You've known for ages that this car won't be FI on debut, there is no reason to be underwhelmed IMO.

TRD Japan does great stuff. Their SUS kit suspension packages are very well balanced. Expensive, yes... no doubt. You do get what you pay for.
