I have stuff to do, and I'm tired of only being able to comfortably wrench for 6 months..
I feel ya, I need a bigger/warmer garage....

We should have a huge MI FT86 meet, obviously sometime when the weather clears up. I'd love to meet everyone on here and see everyone's cars.

Spotted a silver twin Wednesday at the Red Wings game.
That was a messy night...saw at least 10 accidents driving to Joe Louis Arena from Novi, including a black suv that spun out a couple cars in front of me.

Also, new to Michigan and just wanted to say hi everyone.

I'm down you are just going to have to plan it in advance as I live over an hour away from northville and the guy in midland is probably closer to 2 hours away. So those of us that live "up north" would have to know to clear our schedules.

And then there's me, all the way over in GR...

Or we could do something epic and set up a little 86 Cruise through the Tunnel of Trees.

I would be down for that as well. And you have all the good race tracks with gingerman and Grattan near you.

Yeah, I know they're close, but I haven't wanted to do track days yet. Maybe eventually, but AutoX is fun enough for me, especially when factoring in the cost.

Need to get more seat time in this year though.. Only made it to three AutoX's last year, and only two of those in my BRZ. :/

So, mods last season were non-existent. This year I'll have: coilovers, wider wheels/tires, lower control arms, subframe bushings, differential bushings, shifter bushings, Perrin steering lockdown kit, short shifter, and possibly a full exhaust minus the header.

What class would I be in? I'm not competitive with anyone but myself, so I don't care if they put me in the open cockpit class. :P

So, I'm returning my Function7 arms for a couple different reasons, and going to some Voodoo13 arms. Because they don't use bushings, and instead use a heim, would that move me to another class?

I've been doing some reading on other region SCCA rules, and see that 265 tires move you to another class, and that differential bushing upgrades also move you, and that heims/no bushings move you as well. With everything I've done, I think I'd be in a class above STX?

I don't care what class I end up in, I just want to know before the season gets here because I want to get some magnetic placards made up.

I think you'll be in SSM with heimjoints. That size tire could be ok in SSP but the heimjoints instead of the bushing bumps you out of CSP.

Cool, thank you for the insight.

Just to clarify, I'll be on 255's, I was just using 265 as a reference for bumping classes.

My F7's go back this week, and the new control arms should ship within a couple weeks if everything stays on track. Coilovers are hopefully going to be installed this upcoming weekend (so long as the weather permits, 25*+).

Can't wait to get this thing back on the ground and start doing some events again!! It's been too long already.

Awesome, didn't know there were other local 86'ers in GR!

I'm active on a Subaru forum too, and there are a handful of us that get together every now and again for a beer or BBQ, I'll have to mention in here next time I plan a Founder's trip to see if any other twins wanna show up.
