That's true about the chromium black being lighter now. It's more of a glossy, darker gunmetal than a chrome black look. You shouldn't worry about a mismatched set though. I'm pretty sure that was from people who needed a replacement wheel after XXR had switched manufacturers. All the wheels now match. Although I was hoping for a darker chromium black, I'm actually extremely happy with the finish anyways. I guess it's grown on me...and to be honest it's not really a light finish. It's still dark, just not as dark as the old ones

I emailed NLMotoring about the mismatch issue and they said when you buy a set of wheels they send you four wheels produced in the same batch# to ensure you get a matching set. So yea the only issue is when buying replacement wheels.

I just noticed a few minor chips where the center caps rest (I do not use the center caps). Im hoping this doesn't mean the rest of my wheels will begin to chip. They are matte bronze.

Hey man, I'm pretty sure I was parked next to your car in Pflugerville. I was over at Jerry's Wheel and Alignment on Friday afternoon. The wheels looked great in person! Wish I could've met you so I could've shown you my setup. I'm on chromium black 530's.

From what I have been reading, paint chipping on XXR wheels is very common.

I still plan on getting them but I plan on having them powder coated before I even put them on the car

I guess for the price it's to be expected. I wonder how much it would cost to have a set of wheels professionally painted. I'm guessing xxr does not properly prep the wheels prior to painting as the paint does not stick very well. I have a feeling once a rock hits the wheel surface it's going to result in a chip. Im going to be very gentle with cleaning and only use mild cleaners on them. This pisses me off because I love the wheels
