I shall dub this day: Counter Steer Thursday

Awfully slippery out there this morning. Hopefully everyone got where they were going safely.

Winter tires disappointed me (x ice 2's), too much traction control on very slow turns and gentle acceleration. They were pretty solid under braking though.

Windshield wipers are starting to show their age.
Any recommendations on replacement wiper brands?

Xi2s lack a bit in lateral grip relative to Xi3s.
TBH, I'm uncomfortable countersteering with TC on, never sure how it would react. If I'm hooning, I'd rather have TC off, if I'm crawling in traffic, it's usually so slow I don't need to countersteer.

Still better than what 99% of people have on. Today, some truck spun right in front of me on the hwy while trying to change lanes (hit some snow between the lanes) and stuffed it into concrete divider. I pretty sure it wouldn't have happened on some winter rubber.

The last 24 hours have provided some excellent parking lot conditions for doing snonuts.

Not that a mature and responsible owner such as myself would ever perform such actions....

Well my night was going good last night till my CEL came on along with everything on the dash...

I was driving down Leeper Rd. trying to get home to my house in Auburn Hills then my car went nuts. I pulled over and parked the car and turned it off and then back on and still all the lights on. At this point I called Toyota Road Side Assistance and they towed it to the dealer. Still waiting to see what it was. car only had 2700 miles on it.

Needless to say I am shocked at how good I was able to drive in the snow last night.

That sounds like the cam issue. This however was only in a hand full of cars in the first few days of the release. I didn't have it but the ones that did had to have the engine rebuilt. It also could be the tune issue that can be fixed by flashing the ecu with updated software. Either way good luck and hope they get it all sorted out for you.

Well keep us posted you are luckily at low enough miles they probably won't ask any questions. I have almost 30k miles on mine and I get interigated everytime I have a little warranty issue.

For the peeps who are still driving their twins in the winter, how is your MT holding up in cold weather? Just curious to know.

EDIT: What I particularly meant was, are you guys able to shift in to 1st and 2nd gears without any problems? I did read a couple of threads, but wanted to know how the Michigan drivers are doing in this 'really warm and pleasant weather'?!

It's been quite decent once I followed someone's suggestion on this board that I should start in second and idle there for 20 seconds or so.

Today was bad though. It hit -25 yesterday night for an extended period of time. Had to let the car warm up for quite a bit. (It got so cold, the interior temperature displays started lagging).
