In light of the other reviews I think it's safe to say this one is BS.

In my opinion negative reviews are the most helpful. A review after all is more a subjective interpretation of the car by the reviewer then any kind of objective measuring stick for the car. The BRZ is certainly not for everyone, and even someone interested in sporty cars will find plenty they may not like.

By contrast the other review which says that the BRZ is the best thing out of Japan since the NSX tells you absolutely nothing about the car while just stroking the egos of potential owners.

Eh? Ah yes the, if it ain't what I think it's BS methodology.
You're onto a winner there.

Opinions are opinions. You may object to the way they administered their group test and not agree with what they focused on, but that doesn't make it BS.

Just read it, no offense, but it seemed like one of those, ' let's just not like it' article

All of EVO reviews on the BRZ are "lets just not like it" articles. Look it up. They are even on youtube.

Their negative opinion hasn't swayed me.

I'm an average joe. I buy a new car every 5-6 years, learn to love it.
Never owned a sports car so I have no point of reference.
These people test drive more sports in a day than I'll in my lifetime.
To me, getting into a car like this is anything but routine.
As much as I appreciate their feelings (and fantastic review style), I won't be swayed.

You have to take all these reviews with a grain of salt. The positive ones and negative ones, and just judge for yourself. Do yourself a favor and try and test drive some other cars in the same price range either the day of driving the BRZ/FR-S or a few days before. MazdaSpeed 3, Ford Mustang V6 w/performance pack, 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Maybe the Ford Focus ST if it is out.

Decide what you like and want out of a car (if you have not already).

I'm cancelling my preorder right now .

Seriously though, like many have mentioned, auto and tires are the main culprits. It can also use another 50hp.

Comparing these cars are legit, I would be looking at these as a shopper in europe, and likely take the Megane.

Funny enough, the Megane and Mazda Speed3 stack up very closely in terms of specs. I suspect that would be a very close race at the track.

That review is all fun and games for now...

Until: http://www.torquenews.com/1084/next-...eady-developed

I'm shocked! Already? Really? It was bound to happen, but why so soon?

Remember the goal of this car: driving fun through a nimble chassis and a responsive engine. Turbo-charging may hurt that attribute of the engine. The car is running a 12.5:1 compression ratio. Subaru would have to tone that down in order to make some head-space for the additional boost.

If 300hp brz with stiffened suspension, bigger brakes and tires, under 2900lbs is announced, I will be dumping my preorder. That should give you true cayman performance for 1/2 the price.

I doubt it, stock speed3 suspension is weak, and if megane is anything close to clio trophy's suspension, it'll kill it on the track.

Those damn europeans have so many more options.
