This stuff happens in every community. And *every* vendor will have a bad experience with someone so I guess we should ban all vendors?

I wanted to know who was threatened because I suspect there's more to the story than what he/she told you. I can probably bet who it is and if it is that person than I know for a fact that they did more than post a bad review. I had to clean up some of it.

You of all people know that I don't protect the vendors here when they are full of shit. I've led the admins to the removal of a couple vendors now and the departure (by their choice) of at least one more who was mad that I wouldn't let him do whatever he wanted.

On the flip side, I'll strongly defend any vendors that I've had positive experiences with.

Regarding the vendor in question, I don't buy LEDs for my cars so I've never dealt with him. Based on the first bad review I saw (from someone I've actually met in person) I wouldn't have bought from them.

Since when is it our responsibility to protect users from themselves? When you go and buy a new TV do you pick the cheapest vendor on the internet without research? Why would you do so when buying car parts off a forum vendor?

It is our responsibility to try to serve the forum and remove users and vendors that are scamming people. I try to do that to the best of my ability but unfortunately I don't have a time machine to go back and prevent people from getting scammed. There are ALWAYS victims before someone's true colors come out unfortunately. Bad customer service by itself isn't an indicator that a vendor will start scamming people.

Every vendor I've worked with here has been great to deal with. I don't price shop though nor do I go with the unknown shops, perhaps these guys making 3% margins should be avoided by the user?
Nobody has pointed you, so why are you so defensive? Even so, the moderator I speak of, the one who saw thru his BS, is you, so I don't understand why you are singling me out. I didn't post your name just because like I said before, is not my place to name names of people who might not want to.
Nobody has asked you, or other mods, to babysit us, what I point out is that if negative information about this vendor would not have been suppressed, we as customers would have all information we need to make the right choice. But if bad vendors are let to decide what is posted about them, then we the consumers suffer.

Just replying to posts in here that are talking about the mods in general and the perceived attitude/goal of the mods here.

Quite frankly I'm sick of the mods being blamed for stuff like this. If we enforce rules, people bitch. If we don't, people bitch. The mods have zero responsibility for what Vicious LEDs has or has not done.

That's no excuse to single me out and accuse me of saying something I haven't. As the fair person I consider you to be, you should breathe and re-read before posting because I was not talking in general.

Honest question, if we cannot blame the mods who DELETED fair unbiased negative reviews about his product and service, then who can we blame?

I apologize if you took it that it. It was more in general as opposed to be directed at you. The only comment directed at you specifically was obviously at you and it wasn't an attack or anything of the sort. I replied to your post simply because it was the last in the chain.

I had to clean up some posts because the user was going overboard. The feedback forum exists for a reason (I didn't delete any posts in it) but to go and spam multiple other subforums is annoying and clutters up the forum. Those I did remove. If you mean something else, you'd have to ask that mod as I wouldn't know the information.

In fairness, even I was critical of mods which I am fully aware they don't have the oversight we'd like. In reading threads, Dave-ROR is a good mod and sticks to facts (good and bad) which is quite fair. That said, I am personally annoyed that it takes things to spiral out of control before something is done or the forums believe the "little guy". Bad practices start with 1 and continue until it gets out of hand which is the goal of the community, stop it before it starts. Vendors should know before even trying to make a buck that the customer comes first and is usually right. Just cause you have control of the money doesn't mean you control the situation which is where the mods could do a little better and hold the vendors more accountable and not just continue to slap the wrists of obvious bad behavior. Dave-ROR said it yourself, you'd never buy based on the reviews, however, you let him continue to do bad activity until it got out of control. That is my point. There are a LOT more good vendors than bad and Vicious and various others shouldn't ruin the good on this forum or platform. Keep on making this community one of the best out there!

Sorry to hear that. It's sad that people like him and FA20Club can continue to scam people. It's even worse that people on here were trying to defend Ben when others were raising concerns about his business.

I don't really have any more advice at this point. Sorry you had to get burned like that.

I guess you live and you learn bro. Only thing i can think of . guess next time ill just stick with companies like ft86speedfactory to avoid a possible scam like that.

Then again they were just defending him due to the fact that they received their parts and everything went smoothly but that didnt happen with a lot of us.

being someone that defended them early on...it sucks that they went downhill but like @FRS-HHH said some people did get stuff from them (I got ~$1k worth no problem) so my experience was much different than how their service is now. I guess I was just one of the lucky ones
