I have also noticed that back corner of the car makes a popping noise whenever I drive over bumps and things in the road.

I made some adjustments to my options list today. I am nervous as to what is actually available vs what is not.

Originally the car had the Lug Locks, Scion Rear Bumper Applique, and the Trunk Carpet/mat

When I first put the order for the new car in, the Fog Lights had an Aug 31st eta, but I have seen online that the date has been pushed out to possibly Dec/ January, but I still put the request in and will see what availability is/ if that could be a Port Installed Option.

The other items I requested are (I will be paying for these items):

TRD Exahaust
TRD Lowering Springs

I will hopefully hear back on some of the things I ordered in the next couple of days.

So far they have been very helpful though, and I am excited to see what is next.

Yesterday's Email/ update:

Good morning, Brent.

Your replacement 2013 Scion FR-S arrived at Karl Malone Toyota today. The dealer will now take the actions to install the TRD Exhaust and mudguards. I requested that the dealer save the stock exhaust parts for you based on your request and they stated that was no problem. I told them to bag the parts and place them in the trunk/rear of the vehicle. I have also made it very clear that no one is to test drive this vehicle for any reason other than those required for all new vehicles. Once these actions have been completed, the dealer then will submit required paperwork to me so that I can take the next steps in the process. We are 2 – 3 weeks from the transaction taking place.

Hope you are having safe travels

Almost there!
I didn't know it takes 2 - 3 weeks to get the car ready to be sold after it arrives at a dealership.
How many miles did you put on your car so far?

I got back into town Sunday night, so last night after work I headed over to the dealership to see the new car, but the guy I talked to told me it wasn't on the lot and is probably at their other facility getting the dealer installed options installed. It seems strange to me since the Toyota techs are probably more abundant at the Toyota dealership than the used car store across town, but maybe the guy didn't know what he was talking about and it is in the shop area? I don't know really? I don't think they had my original car at the used car dealership/ shop at all. So I am going to just guess that the guy was misinformed. I will stop back over there today and ask someone else.

So I had the opportunity to sit in the back seat this weekend and record the noise coming from the passenger side rear. This sound seems to be coming from right around the damaged area and mostly appears at or below 4500 rpms. This sound did not used to be there, so there is definitely more than meets the eye with the damaged area.

I dropped by the dealership this morning to see if the car had made an appearance. It is there being hidden in the back, so I am confident they are keeping customers out of it.

for those that didn't read through all the pages in this thread, did your dealer/toyota try to fix the defect or give you a new frs?
