We shall see in a month. Or two. Or maybe three.
I am not trying to bring you guys down or be a pessimist but they were very clear that it was a late 2016 or early 2017 build and said so many times.
December is late 2016.

Build! It takes weeks for them to get here after they are built.

it's not a person at all. Operations plugged in an ETA in the computer based on whatever factors Operations uses. The CSR reads the letters that appear on the screen. it cant get any more objective than that.

If subaru's estimate is uncharacteristically wrong, then it is wrong. whether Subaru's estimate turns out to be accurate or not is anyone's guess.

saying we were lied to is really missing the point here and doesn't add any value to the disussion imo
An opposing viewpoint is of no value to the discussion? I am not saying you were "lied" to I am just saying that they don't know so are throwing random dates at you. Never hear the term "the cheque is in the mail"? I will be very happy for you guys if they show up earlier. I just don't think they will and don't want to see all the complaints if they don't. I think you may be reading what I am saying in a tone or with an attitude that I am not intending.

I have to say that I believe you maybes right about the delivery date. According to the information we have for now, it is a reasonable prediction that the pp cars will not be here before Jan 2017. I really appreciate your information since it is the most reliable source I have to determine when I should sell my current car.

We'll see what the dealer has to say once he receives the list of cars he'll be getting for December. Once he has that list there won't be any more speculation about December.

Even if your car was built today it will take at least 20 days to move through the pipeline to get to you. Once you have a VIN (as said, issued approx. a month before build) then you will know that you are within about 50 days of receiving the car.

That will be a list of what he is supposed to have delivered not necessarily what will be delivered. It would be a great start but until somebody has keys in hand nothing is firm.

FWIW, I ordered my non-PP car in late August, they told me at the time that Subaru's estimate was the last week of December.

I called them October 28th for an update, Subaru had not yet issued a VIN.

November 15th, they called me to tell me that the car had arrived at the dealership (after I had left a message canceling my order, mind you).

Sooooo.... this is a cautionary tale - Subaru's systems are "sure" and "yes", and their estimates are "lol". And what the dealership says is..... even more "haha".

I have a close buddy that has a PP car on order locally with an ETA of "March" - so we'll see...

Bet you it isn't a PP that they got. "Oh you wanted what? Well we have this one here now and will give you a great deal"
