![]() The stock overpipe and secondary cat are still in place, so when the full turbo back exhaust pieces go on it will be a bit noisier. That's going to wait a while, we are still testing various things on the stage 1 package. |

Make sure you test fitment of the front pipe on cars with an auto trans, that 5" cat may be really close to the trans pan.

i'm planning on going this route. however i'm in love with the q300 catback. you think that will hinder and performance?
and as for catted/catless, is there a stg2 option technically? as in you're removing one cat with a pipe correct? |

Q300 is only 60mm piping, i would probably go a different route with FI.

@AVOturboworld
Hey Paul, I've got a few questions for you (keep in mind im fairly nooby when it comes to understanding engines and FI and stuff, but don't have much of an issue installing parts/DIY) 1. From my understanding, your stage 2 kit will simply be the stage 1 kit but with a COMPLETE turbo back exhaust and the corresponding tune, will the tune be as complete as the stage 1? The reason I ask is because I plan on installing the kit myself to avoid insane labour rates and also because the nearest area id be able to get it tuned is aprox 10 hours away (Lachute Performance) and aslong as the base tune is good enough for a DD with no issues I'll be more then happy. ![]() 2. That being said, if the stage 2 kit is pretty well just a complete exhaust and slight extra boost, engine reliability/parts reliability should be very similar to stage 1? (With the possible exception of the clutch) I plan to use 91 octane as it's the best I can find within about a 600km radius (fml lol). 3. Boost Control, will we be able to control boost levels from ECUTek or would we need a boost controller? 4. Considering you'll have tremendous amounts of tune time into the kit, should I even bother getting an AFR gauge considering I have no knowledge in tunning and wouldn't make any adjustments on my own behalf unless instrcted by a professional? 5. Reliability; It is to my understanding that your goal for the kit is to provide extra power to a Daily Driver and not taking away from the cars reliability in the least bit possible. I realise it's an extremely hard call to make with the limited mileage you guys have and the limited amount of vehicles the kit is actually being tested on, but can you forsee any issues that might come to mind in havin this stage 1 or stage 2 kit bolted on a MT from 5000km-250,000km such as engine internals or transmission or any other parts for that matter? I have been browsing this forum for quite some time now, and I've read 90% of the posts in this build thread, and I've finally made an account to ask some questions of my own! ![]() Love the hard and precision work an thought put into this kit, Thank you for your time in reading my questions/concerns, Brody |

@AVOturboworld
Hey Paul, I just put a $1000 deposit on the kit. I was wondering if the deposit puts me in line for the kit before anyone else that makes a deposit after mine.

That would be correct, kits will be shipped in order of deposits placed.

Then once that is decided on, we have to do the testing there, then here in the states on 91 octane. That will take a bit of time. Quote:

All I've got is information from other kits on other cars, such as our 2.5i Outback that was turbocharged at 180,000 mile point on stock engine, and is still on that stock engine at 200,000 miles. Compression and leakdown check was just performed, with the compression on all 4 cylinders being between 201 and 205, and leakdown between 4-8% (8% on cylinder 4). As Ross puts it, he's seen 2011 WRX's with worse numbers than that. Ultimately, I'll say the same for this car as any other turbo kit car we do - the most important thing is to keep up with changing the oil. Skimping on oil changes is the no.1 reason for engine failures IMHO. As far as clutches, seriously, it's a designated weak point. Far better for the clutch to wear out than the axles to break, or the diff or transmission. |
