Looks like the new trend in the main forum is going to be, "Is this a good deal for x amount off MSRP?"

Remember the old days when it was "Let's blacklist all the price gouging dealers!"?

In other news, please tell me I'm not the only one that watches Royal Pains. I caught this tonight.

Okay, I caved into the car modding thing. Looking for a lightweight flywheel to buy for when the clutch is out, and I'm inquiring about a stock camshaft to get a regrind on...

Is it bad that I'm hoping my tires wear out faster so I can get new ones and my battery dies so I can get a new one?

The beginning of the end.

Don't worry, I had already given up before I even bought the car. "Let me make a terrible financial decision," I said out loud.

Mentally I've already allocated myself a nearly unlimited car budget for when I work fulltime, so indeed, the beginning of the end.

Recently I've been dreaming up things to do to a Lotus Evora... I hope titanium becomes cheaper by the time I can afford one?

This is coming as a shocking realization to me, but it just occurred to me that I've never looked into or put much thought into Evoras. I was anticipating their release for a long time, and I've seen a handful of reviews, but that's about the extent of it. I definitely never thought about modding one. It would make a nice DD if I was a rich guy, but that's all I've ever considered it for. It probably would be a fun car to mod and has a lot of potential.

But... at the end of the day... Exige.

EDIT: About the fun of modding the Evora, especially if you've got the budget for a gratuitious amount of titanium.

Not unless it magically becomes easier to work with. Stupid expensive, galling, tool-wearing, high temp nitrogen and oxygen absorbing titanium. Grrr...

I love Lotus, but have you read any owner's reviews about them?

I hear horror stories from my friend that works at an exotic dealer. He says the exige has a habit of locking it's own doors for no reason, that would really piss me off!

Oh yeah, I'm very familiar with all the baggage that comes along with an Elise or Exige. Not that I've owned one, but for someone who hasn't owned one, I'm pretty familiar.

Totally worth it if you're an enthusiast though. I love riding in cars that you don't see on the road everyday. It always cracks me up when people ask what kind of car it is.
