Guys, there's rules in place, for better or worse, and they're known or available to everyone. The rules weren't followed so action was taken. That doesn't mean Eric wont be able to start paying and get his account back.

Erik may not be selling parts yet, but it's impossible for the moderators to know that for sure. Either way his company is benefiting from what is likely far and away the most effective advertising space for this market. Given the size of his operation at the moment I don't see why he would be against the small fee for advertising. I've advocated for a scaled fee system in the past, but again, how can the moderators monitor the size of a company. And it's not like he's only selling T-shirts that do as much advertising for this site as they do his company...

BTW, Erik has his own company (Velox) he's not solely designing parts for FT86SF to the best of my knowledge.

Next they will ban the CSG guys and Steve99. Then I will have absolutely no reason to be on this forum.

CSG guys are paying sponsors though, and Steve99 doesnt make/advertise his own stuff.

That comment was made to point out the other helpful people on this forum.

We ban product development and knowledge and keep the haters and trolls.

My point was those helpful people wouldn't get banned because they're not risking any rules... maybe im still missing your point o_O

It does suck that eric got banned but rules are rules and this site wont sustain itself with just the single tiny advertising banner up top.

Alright guys, lets get this thread back on track. I obviously overstepped my boundaries and was banned, permanently, with no warning, for it. I am waiting on a response on how to become a site sponsor even though we have no money to spend because it all goes towards development, but such is life when you're a start-up I guess.

More updates will be coming when we figure out how to jump through all the hoops.

Thanks,
Eric

Considering you develop parts exclusively and only for FT86SF, which is a paying vendor, I don't see why you would have to be your own vendor??

I was worried that would happen. There's a pretty thin line between product development and product marketing, and the mods may have felt that you crossed that line. Or maybe they decided that open product development constituted advertising in and of itself. You would probably benefit from talking to Guff or Dave to see who banned you, then talk to that person and find out why and how not to do that again.

This is the part I don't get. It would be better for sites owner to make contact with a vendor, even if they do it after the ban hammer drops. People make mistakes, why not drop the hammer but send an email saying what needs to be done to get unbanned.

Also, sorry for misspelling your name. My oldest is named Erik so my phone autocorrects Eric to Erik now.

No. I know ft86sf. Wonderbar is a chocolate bar if I'm not mistaken. I have never heard of a driveway lab. I get the impression you're trying to get at something but I have no idea what that may be.

You really haven't heard of those?
Wonderbar makes the driveway labs diffusers, he is not a paying vendor on here.
There is some... I guess you could say, some people have had disagreements about how they have gone about selling/advertising.
He never specifically advertises the item but it is known he makes them and where to buy them and posts in the threads about them.
He never does any actual "advertising" though.
