Damn!!! They really aren't up to the task of repeated track abuse! *adds upgraded brake kit to the list*

What is the consequence of driving with brittle/cracked dust boots on the caliper pistons?

Word on the street is that the Essex sprint kit does not have dust seals. I assume on a clean track its okay, but what about in daily driver conditions?

You are correct, the essex/AP calipers do not have dust boots.

The only consequence is the chance foreign objects can get to the seals and damage them. However, I've never had OEM dustshields last with any track use and almost always remove them before I install calipers anyways, they just make a mess when they melt and fall apart.

Currently none of my cars have functioning dust boots, either by design or by destruction of them through track use...

Tire rack includes them when you buy wheels through them. I'm sure they'd sell them separately as well.

Nice videos! Btw, sorry buddy but I kinda copied you with your Sprint kit + RPF1 set up

I noticed you're also still on stock suspension. I'll probably end up going with whatever ohlins or bilstein has to offer.

Those brake pads squeal like a school bus stopping. Do you run them on the street or just the track? What top speed do you reach on Sebring?

Thanks. I copied Essex already, although that wasn't planned lol

Stock suspension again because Sebring is crazy rough. The sportlines aren't ideal for such a rough track, I'll switch back again though - or run Multi Pro R2s instead...

You should hear them on the street. I use my e-brake in my neighborhood.. fantastic on the track, progressive, easy release instead of 'snapping' off the discs, handles heat like a champ, etc.. On the street they are far from ideal. Switching the fronts out with AP S100 front pads tonight

Top speed.. hmm upper 110s probably. Never really looked and I wasn't running the data logger last weekend.

Wow, I really admire the wheel and brake upgrade, Dave... Beautiful.

My front rotors are starting to look the same way... Any suggestions for type / brand of front rotor(s) to upgrade with (without spending the big bucks for a BBK)?

Please feel free to PM me...

Also, I have my Ferodo DS2500 front pads currently as back-up since I'm on my second set of OEM pads up-front (I know, not the brightest idea)... Although I have your choice of Carbotech XP10/8 combo in the back of my mind for the time being...

No idea on OEM size rotors I only used the OEM so I never replaced them. Some of the other guys might have some suggestions in the track forum.
