Just to make sure, you are running the com-c + conical washer, stock top perch, rubber mount and rce yellows? I'm on my second set and they are now starting to pop - wondering if I get the washers and re-assemble if the noise would go away......

Yes. I also have the Whiteline camber bolts on my setup.

I'm curious about these top mounts ... I just put in some RCE Tarmac IIs, and they reuse the stock top mounts, which I have to be honest, is not ideal in my mind having seen how it all goes together. These look like a much better solution to a coilover assembly than reusing stock tops ...

Have the issues been fixed with these yet? What are some alternative top mounts if these aren't fixed yet?

I had a koni yellow blow this weekend. Not sure if the top hats binding and popping caused the issue or not. Sent Jan a email as they were going to send me another set that I passed on since my setup was working so well. Then the koni blew now I'm ready to try the washers.

Can anyone tell me what the number on the Koyo bearing is? And is it just pressed into the steel insert?

I sell bearings for a living and i'm curious if an uprated bearing could be pressed in to replace the one that ships from whiteline.

This leaves me wondering what the stock strut tops have in the way of a bearing.

EDIT: It doesn't look like the bearing in the whitline top is easily replaced looking at that picture.

Interesting! Thank you again for the photos. It is the same bearing so the whitlines should be fine. I would argue that the RS seal is better than the Z sheild in this application but i doubt its the source of the problem. The dents in the seal aren't something i want to see in a stock setup tho. My next line of thought is that the additional camber/caster is either putting too much misalignment through the bearing or is increasing the loads on the bearing. Or both.

Either way it doesn't look like there is a quick fix for existing owners of these. Hopefully whiteline finds a fix soon.

The bearing is appears to be molded into the rubber / poly that is used in the mount and it seems like it would be near impossible to change it.

Just a thought before i nod off, for those running KWs etc, you could potentially put a small needle thrust bearing between the conical washer and the spring top thing to stop any binding. I can check tomorrow at work what size is available. It would raise the front of the car about 3 - 4mm (roughly 1/8") but I doubt anyone would notice.
