Maybe "being a man" is making the right financial and practical decision for where you stand in life rather than indulging a childish desire for what is effectively a depreciating mass of plastic, rubber, metal, and oil.
Anyway, I love the commercial because it is what could happen if I did something impulsive like bring home an FR-S right now. My wife knows that I've been waiting for this car for ages and I will have one, but the timing isn't right with a 3 month old daughter* and still trying to figure out how finances will be with my wife dropping back to part time and the expenses that come along with a kiddo. If we can afford to keep the 3 vehicles we have and add the FR-S in the summer, that is what we'll do. If we can't afford to have 4 vehicles, I'll swap the MINI for the FR-S. Regardless, we need time to figure all that out because I'd hate to sell a car because I felt I had to rather than I wanted to. So, that is the plan. That's why the ad is good. It is amusing to me of what could happen if I did something completely out of my character and impulsively bought a sports car. |

Reminds me of my wife when I brought home a new '08 STI for a test drive. Unfortunately I caved and didn't buy it.
