Also, based on what a previous poster said, and you have mentioned, RF is what you looked at first and wanted first; a rule that I stand behind is go for what you really want, if the BRZ is a compromise, you will end up getting rid of it/not liking it as much as you should, and always wondering what the RF would've been like to own.

The Ecoboost runs in the same SCCA Solo2 class (DS) as the FRS/BRZ and there is one in my chapter that is doing well. The Mustang isn't what it used to be.

Yep. The new Mustangs and to a slightly lesser extent the Camaros are starting to actually stray into real "sports car" territory. Won't be long until only Dodge is truly interested in building an old school pony car.

But the Alpha Camaro is lighter, smaller, and handles better than the Mustang.

I could never justify the ecoboost to myself when the 5.0 is so much more car for not that much less cash. The ecoboost will also depreciate much faster, and it requires premium fuel unlike the GT. The exhaust sound alone makes the GT worth the premium IMO.

I have driven both and the Camaro still feels slightly more pony carish. Probably the seating position and horrid visibility more than the car's actual handling.
The ecoboost fills a void that the GT never will. Not everybody wants all that V8 goodness. They just want to have a Mustang. Even more than the other performance cars on the road the majority of Mustangs are not driven in a performance manner. They are just owned by people that like the whole idea.

Sure, I totally get that. I'm sure it's been a great success for Ford, but from a performance aspect I don't really get the appeal of the car. I constantly hear it being compared to the Silvia and I laugh inside.

I agree with this. If I had an Ecoboost I’d always wonder about that 5.0 rumble. Also, one thing I’ve said from go is I want fun to drive and good on gas...not Mustang, lol. Yes, Ecoboost do depreciate pretty hard.

I just don’t like how Nissan has been complacent for so long. Remember, I’m 6’2, so I have to be honest with myself about fitting comfortable in RF. I found great place here called Moorespeed that does Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati work and they can easily help me pick out bucket seat to sit lower in Miata and even install. Not sure I’m wanting to drop cash on seat and rip out seat of new/newer car though. BRZ entered equation because of this and reading about cars similar fun to drive.

6’2 here and no problem at all. I am mostly legs and fit in almost any car though. My dad on the other hand is also 6’2 but mostly torso and he also fits perfectly in my car even with a helmet on.

Ok, went yesterday for test drives. Went to Subaru, only model they had was tS on showroom floor and wouldn’t let me test since I was honest about not buying yet. Hell, they had doors locked, I got them to unlock. No limited or premium. Went to Mazda and guy taught me stick since I basically had one lesson a few months ago. Loved it, but wife not really feeling RF and I’m debating on ST with top issues.

Honestly, the BRZ did feel claustrophobic but I’m thinking it was because I didn’t take much time since I was pissed that there was nothing to test. I’m going to another Subaru dealership soon and Toyota to hopefully drive 86. I’d like to drive MT and AT after reading about changes made to AT in ‘17. What I really want to find out is how’s clutch and shifter feel for rookie compared to ND?

ND has a better feeling clutch and a much smoother transmission. I love the notchier feel of the twins though.
