There was a loose sealed koni strut next to the SSC car at Lincoln. I took a picture of the seal.

I think blue question marks are a questionable upgrade from red x's.

Let's do this though. I trust the SCCA will come around on oil coolers.
From the official Tire Rack PDF...https://www.tirerack.com/images/pdf/scca-ssc-rules.pdf Quote:
There is also zero mention of Street class rules being in play. I.E. catback exhausts, air filters, brake pads. Thoughts? I'm thinking I'm going to put my car in the class immediately just for kicks... even if on OEM dampers. |

From tire rack pdf
O.E. components or components speci cally listed in the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Packages below may be used. For components not speci cally listed in the Stage 1 or 2 Packages, the Solo Street Category allowances apply. Vehicles will be allowed to be “under prepared” without all allowed modi cations being installed. My understanding is like everyone else spec parts or stock if listed. So it's gonna be stock springs or eibachs springs. Exhaust airfilter swaybar endlinks and other usual street class mods will be allowed. I also feel that it will be that way with the wheels as well. It will be 17x8 17lbs wheels or the stock unless they split cars in stage 1 and 2. Maybe then street class rules might apply to cars in stage 1 since no spec wheel is listed. That is all assumption |

We have a very similar setup, but I really like my Strano bar. I love my DS setup and it is one of the things that is making me question whether to make the switch to SSC, but I am 95% sure I will make the switch. Per our local region's chat room it sounds like we will have very good local participation which makes this an easier decision for me. I will keep my Strano bar and the stock suspension components so that I can switch back. It's also nice to see new membership in the SCCA as a result of this. |

Quick DS questions: why does it seem like people either love or hate their Strano front bars? Also, is it ok to use one with stock end links? I have a used one ready to install and may want to stay in DS but am second guessing installing it if it's not a good front bar.

Stock end links should not post a problem. Edit: you should be learning something at every event, don't shut your brain off, the day you try the bar is the day you find out "how does this car feel when I go stiffer on the front end?" Which will come in handy with the adjustable eibach bar. |

I drive about an hour and a half one way to do this. Most people do. Too many people go spend tens of thousands of dollars on sports cars and never ever spin them out, it's a shame. Edit: Go once, and make sure you ride along in someone else's car, it's too easy to go out and turn a few slow laps think 'this is lame' and go home and never come back. Experiencing a car driven on and over the edge is awesome, and you have all the tools to go do that. And I'd suggest skipping a ride along in some big fast kickass car like a Corvette or GT3, find the guy turning quick times in an E30/E36 or '80s Civic or NA/NB Miata so you're not distracted by the raw speed and horsepower bought by money and really feel what it means to drive something 'slow' at 11/10ths. Sorry I'm all hyped because I had a fun local autox yesterday. Last edited by strat61caster; 09-10-2017 at 03:29 PM. |
