that's the point I'm just wondering if the unit will be able to keep up.
I understand that it has a maximum impeller speed of 90,000 rpm. I understand that with stock pulley and engine at redline impeller speed is @ ~70.5k rpm I understand the HBP or an increased redline will up the boost and impeller rpm What I don't understand is by how much. What would Impeller speed be at a 9,000 redline and stock pulley? let's say it's that maximum of 90,000 rpm. Would the HBP just bring the torque curve in sooner or would it over spin the SC and destroy it? Is there a fix, work around, or other kit for this that uses a centrifugal SC? |

You have enough overhead to use a standard 110mm pulley. You do not for a 100mm pulley.
Do you currently own a C38 JRSC? |

Any way to calculate the boost it'd be making at peak? Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk |

Boost is dependent on restriction, but if it were, theoretically, a stock engine, you'd theoretically be seeing 20-24psi at 9000 rpm.

Aside from cost, any downside ordering the C38 kit instead of the C30 kit?
From my understanding to fully take advantage of the C38, I'd need a built engine, which isn't something I plan on. I'd probably just happily drive with the standard pulley and CARB legal tune, though the idea of the HBP + E85 is very appealing. Regardless it seems like ordering the C38 kit would be wise, just in "case" of big power dreams. I'm only concerned if the tune on the C30 kit is superior or if the power delivery is drastically different due to the blower sizes. For the CARB tune, peak power has been been advertised as being the same, but how's the power below the peaks? Is one kit more responsive than another? |

Cost is the only disadvantage and in the grand scheme of things and how much the system costs in total, the extra cost is drops in the bucket. Power delivery is identical and I am willing to be even the tune is identical. The C38 is also quieter. This a plus for some and a negative for others (like me). The C30 is 11.2 pounds and the C38 is 13.2 pounds so there's a disadvantage there. E85 would make equal gains on both systems until you start swapping pulleys so that falls into the big power dreams you mentioned. Peaks are the same but according to charts I have seen the C38 is better below the peaks. That's only according to boost pressures read at the MAP and I am sure the difference isn't measurable, especially if the tunes are in fact the same. The only reason the system has a different CARB EO is because it uses different parts and every iteration has to be re-certed. I hope this helps. I was going to buy the C30 myself but ended up going with the C38 system instead. |

Jackson Racing C38-81 Supercharger - CARB legal
I just added got custom tuned and my car doesn't see more than 7psi of boost.
What's the standard boost level for the C38 w/ standard pulley? Was wondering what other owners are seeing their boost levels at with the standard pulley? Last edited by byun; 04-18-2016 at 07:59 PM. |

Depends on altitude. Here at 4400 feet-ish that's what we are seeing and of course it will continue to drop as you get higher. You can check what altitude you are at and if you are not at such a high altitude then you may or may not have an issue. If you got custom tuned, what was your baseline and what did you make with the SC? |

I'm pretty much at sea level. Wasn't able to get a baseline. Ended up with 236whp mods are JRSC c38 w/ ace header 250 and greddy supreme sp catback. I think a stock brz on there dyno is around 135-140whp |
