One More question to Tada-San:
Since Toyota has a joint share in Subaru (Hence these wonderful cars you've brought us), Any chance for a World Rally Blue or Sonic Blue option on the FR-S/86/GT86? |

Id like to second this. Perhaps he can comment on the peak/dip/peak nature of the torque curve.

I want to first say I love the way this car drives, feels and looks!
I do have some questions for both Tada-San AND Scion/Toyota regarding the quality/reliability of my FR-S: 1- Why did at least a handful of models have this "check engine light" issue? This is really not very good "Toyota Quality;" would you agree? Mine is one of these that was affected; it was remedied with a new ECU, but, I'm concerned about its long term reliability and driving satisfaction; so far, I'm not really satisfied as it still idles strange (dipping and somewhat shaky, some of the time.) Is a permanent fix coming to give me confidence that this car can and will run SMOOTHLY for years to come? 2- Another quality issue is the very annoying "popping/crackle" sound from the rear. It's also kind of embarrassing when my passengers ask "what's the weird sound back there?" Subaru has a TSB addressing the issue, Scion/Toyota does NOT. Is Scion/Toyota going to very soon fix this noisy problem in my car? I really hope so! 3- My third concern is probably more directed to just Scion. Is there going to soon be a SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED update for the BeSpoke iPhone app for the "premium" stereo unit that I paid an extra $845 for?? This car would be nearly perfect if these issues were fixed. Thank you for your consideration! |

Yeah, good point. The teams that create the concepts are often so far out from what the company actually has in store for production. LOL

^It's possible that someone can vectorize that signature and turn it into a decal. Not I cuz I dunno how... but somebody... and maybe we'd need to ask for Tada-san's permission. And whaddya know... that's exactly what this thread is for. How convenient!

More question for Tada-san:
1] I think I've seen spy pics of a MkIV Supra (N/A?) alongside the FT-86 prototype being tested in Germany. I also think I saw a Cayman, not sure if it was base, S, or R. What were the specific makes/models/years/trims of all the different cars used during benchmark testing? 2] I understand this car's suspension was tuned for different regions/environments of the world. For example, the stiffness/spring rate specs of the JDM 86 springs/struts are different than that of the FR-S in the US. Is the JDM BRZ suspension slightly different compared to the USDM BRZ suspension? How many different sets of part numbers exist among the BRZ/86/GT 86/FR-S suspensions around the world and what regions is each suspension set available in? 3] Who developed the exhaust at the 1:20 mark in this video (
It is being marketed for the FR-S under TRD USA but it looks like this was tested by Europeans in Japan. Is it Borla? Many members on this forum think it is but I think that's a huge misconception.

Will there be an lighter version of the 86 that will encompass hybrid technology or just straight electrical, and a 2 seater removable targa type convertible will be available?
