Mine just started at about 320 miles. Only have gas with 10% ethanol in the area.

There isn't a fix (replacement part) YET. One of the only ways to get the noise to go away is using 93 octane 0% ethanol gas.... which might be hard to get in or near Chicago.

I've also had the chirp come and go even when using E0.

BUT

Its only been at pumps where there was also E10/15 being offered, like some left over ethanol gas was still in the line from when the last person filled up.

He might just have a bad valve in the pump though. I know they released that new valve to address the chirp, just not the one caused by ethanol.

I experienced this chirping noise when I 1st bought the car off the lot had 100miles on the odo, the dealer said the chirping/cricket noise was normal from a boxer motor well 7500 miles later at the 1st oil change a nice young lady told me the noise wasn't normal and diagnose it for me. They found the problem was because of a fuel pump And replaced it free of charge now the chirping noise is gone hopefully forever!

Well that eliminates the good vs bad gas theory! lol. for now it seems my chirps went away for a day. maybe they migrated as the weather got colder, and will return once spring returns!

Bring your car to the dealership and have them replace the fuel pump it's suppose to be free of charge I always ran 93 octane but the noise kept coming on after it's warmed up but after replacing it I never heard the chirp noise again that's my .2c

Guessing you are posting from a phone, but either way punctuation > you.

And if you had bother to read a couple pages of this thread, the chirp has been coming back for most replacements. Waiting now to see if the rumors of a new HPFP are actually true or not.

Its not a theory.

Ethanol does cause the chirp.

When I run Ethanol gas I get the chirp within 10min of leaving the station. If I run it dry and then run ethanol free, the chirp goes away after about a quarter of a tank and is gone until I put Ethanol back in the tank again.

I've been filling with Shell V-power 93 since the day I drove it off the showroom floor. Chirps every time I drive it.

As far as I know, no. I've asked and checked for ethanol signs.
