Also worth noting the 3.8 has very little loss with regular fuel vs. premium. And the 3.8 guys have had no difference in long term durability or mpg between the two. I think most of them run regular. The 2.0T is a different story.

Hey guys, I'm mostly on S2KI, occasionally on here but thinking of a second car (leaving the S for the weekends) and I'm leaning towards the genesis coupe V6 instead of the BRZ. I know apples to oranges comparison but just like previous posters I'm probably not going to track the car at all but would serve more as a daily driver but i want some fun factor as well. I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon to test drive the new gen coupe. They have two of them there, both V6, one auto (8-speed) and one manual. I know it won't handle like the S2K but let you guys know how it goes. Wish me luck.

Definitely get back to us with your impressions. We are enthusiasts dammit! We like to learn about all potential sports/sporty cars out there. :happy0180:

Yes sir... The dealership called me this afternoon that the truck arrived and he had 2 gen coupes available, one manual and one 8-speed auto. I'll take some pictures and hopefully get some video as well. I'll let everyone know what I think of the auto and the beefier manual, I thought the last manual one was a let down and told them I need more power and better interior, I may not have an excuse tomorrow. Less than 16 hours till testing.

Alright, just got done doing the drive. I must say I was pretty impressed especially compared to the previous version. Personally the car has definitely grown up, interior is much more refined, that air-intake baffle by-pass is pretty sweet sounding. I'm typing this on my phone right now (I'll update later with pictures) but with the previous version looks kinda Tiburon-ish next to the new one. Seeing up in person, I like it much more, it has a bigger muscular presence. I drove the (8-speed) automatic version, which has the paddle shifter and it shifted as expected (kinda of there if you decide to have a little fun) but leaving it in auto works out perfectly fine. The manual version was already bought by the time I got to the dealer. I have a good relationship with these guys and they told me the shifter in the previous version as reported by everyone else was kinda clunky but the new one has a more solid shorter throw.

I have to admit, it drove really well (I swear everyone who owns a S is spoiled) and definitely has a lot more power but I'd think I could give a better review in the manual version. Also, I drove the touring edition and I'm positive the Track Edition or R-Spec edition will be even more aggressive. Features and comfort have greatly improved and the blue link system is an added benefit. Overall, I'll probably buy this but really want to drive the Veloster Turbo/BRZ/Focus St first. I had a good experience with it.

^slu, thanks for your review. Happy to hear it.

From what the guys are saying on GC forums, the 3.8 is vastly improved and well worth the $. I think the 3.8 R-Spec is where the money is at (Track if you want a few more gadgets). Just curious what your thoughts were regarding the seats? I know the 3.8 is a completely different car than your S2000, but would you consider replacing the S2000 with it? Was it that good?

The seats are much better than the previous one. Adding to the PM we just exchanged, the S is staying for the weekend car (fun events) and this could be my daily driver but still really want to drive the Subie. Personally I loved seeing the torque gage at 300lbs and really drove smooth at other times. Drive it when you have chance, it was much improved.

$23,100 2.0L 274hp 275 lb-ft turbo

Hi, everyone
First post in the forum and hope I am making a valid complain, after waking up at 6 every morning for the past week waiting for a BRZ price.

Came across this just now in auto week:

$23,100
2.0L 274 hp, 275 lb-ft turbocharged I4
RWD
3,362 lb
0 - 60 MPH: 4.8 sec
Fuel economy 24 MPG
LED headlights and taillights.

Guess what car is it? Genesis coupe 2.0.

If the BRZ price come sooner I may not have more second thought but after putting down my deposit and waited so long, it's giving me a lot of 2nd thoughts.

If you like the GenCoupe, then buy it. Most of us don't want to drive a near-3400lb boat with 274HP.

I have my heavy ass Supra with 550hp for that....

you are incorrect. The price you posted is for the 2012 2.0 while the spec you posted is for the 2013 2.0 r-spec.

Invoice price on the r-spec is 25.4k
