Destiny Raid Groups/ General Discussion

Yeah same here, I didn't even do either raid last week.

You only really need to be 32 if you want to do HM, but otherwise you can easily do the rest of the game as a 31.

This game has been wearing thin on me recently, might be time to finish Dragon Age

Everytime I go the store, I look in the gaming section. There still isn't anything out that is calling my name. Actually, most of what's out there seems pretty terrible or at least doesn't interest me. Could be I am just biased, I love epic Sci-Fi story lines.

Last Friday I finally got Gjallerhorn from the Crota raid (and an Icebreaker from Xur finally!). I now feel like I have no incentive to play anymore lol, especially when I think about bungie's philosophy about the game. I don't like that their solution to most things is to make it tediously hard (add more bullet sponges!), as apposed to a genuine challenge (Like say for example dark souls). Its still a fun game for me, but at this point one I will approach more casually.

Seeing how Crota's raid has been changed it definitely wasn't unexpected, but just leaves a sour taste. Crota's End is already a REALLY lazy execution of some awesome ideas... Just adding yellows and removing the chalice with a guaranteed enrage just seems like more lazy. They're giving us the finger and adding so many layers of artificial difficulty, it's as if they're catering to the elite .01% of players who thrive on raw challenge regardless of the quality. It doesn't make the raid fun, it makes it infuriating.

I might feel differently when I hit 32 in the next week or so. But the lack if ingenuity and originality in the difficulties is discouraging.

That's pretty much how I feel about it. Once again, I'll probably just skip the HM raid from here on out. Guess I won't be getting my Eidolon Ally upgraded!

I'm actually wondering what their server traffic looks like right now. I bet they won't release any statistics. Maybe it's just me, but anyone else notice the worlds seem pretty vacant as far as other Guardian's go? I remember playing patrol a couple months back and everywhere I went I was tripping over other people. Last night, I played for over an hour and only saw a few other people. Could be too that the game has run it's course and people are moving on to other things at this point.

My ever decreasing friend's list suggests the same. Might be why the base game has been on sale recently.

Yeah, pretty much everyone I used to play with I never see online anymore. Kind of a strange feeling but just part of life. People move on for various reasons. I don't plan on going anywhere for now, I still enjoy doing the Nightfall and Weekly every week. I need to start playing the MCC more.

I'm more likely to believe it's been on sale because of the holidays, and because it's been out for over four months now. I've seen half off sales on plenty of brand new games around the holidays. Shadows of Mordor was selling for 20 bucks several places around black Friday and Xmas, and it came out several weeks after Destiny did.

No ghorn today, that made me sad. I guess they mixed up Xur's "random" inventory.

Seems like there's already some really solid, safe and more importantly LEGIT methods for beating HM Crota, some very creative new ways to use Titan bubbles to block the boomers.

I wouldn't mind trying HM, but I first need to beat normal mode!

We ended up beating it the following night after you and Daver signed off haha! We're actually going to raid this Sunday around 1-2PM if you're interested.

Definitely! It should work out good for me actually. The GF works that day so I'll go have lunch with her but should be back to the house by 2.

Hard mode you really need to be level 32, every single enemy is 33 and at 31 you're just too weak to do much of anything. Been trying to solo the lamps to get that pulse rifle but it's starting to get pretty frustrating.

I should be around on Sunday, hit me up for sure if you need a 6th.
