Does anyone have a low profile car jack that I could borrow for the day?

Problem is, that is WAY more weight than just using a high powered gasoline engine to drive the car. As I recall, the fiskar karma does this, and has a solar panel roof to power all the interior electronics. It still has to have a bunch of batteries to store power for the electric motors, thus more weight. A KERS system would be better, but expensive to run in a street car, currently F1 and LMP cars use it.

If you were using a small gasoline engine running at a constant RPM in order to generate electricity with the most efficiency though, then you may not even need huge batteries. Remember I'm talking about a hybrid system, rather than full-electric. Mitsubishi's system can be used in either. You'd also lose the weight from the transmission, driveshaft, and differential (although this would probably merely be offset by the weight of four electric motors... I'm not certain).

Edit: I looked up info on the Fisker Karma, and although it is also a hybrid, it uses the power from the batteries first, in full electric mode, and only then does it switch to the gas engine, which can power the car without the need for the batteries to be charged. The Chevy Volt works in the same way. I think they do this mostly to claim the benefits of a fully electric vehicle (never having to use gas for short distances, maximizing the money you save). The Fisker Karma is a bit confusing though... nobody buys a car like that because they're concerned about fuel economy... I suppose really rich environmentalists would be interested. For a pure sports car though, where you would want as little weight as possible, I think you would be just fine with a standard battery.

I would think KERS should be in 'every' Hybrid/electric car...

I think a formula 1 style KERS system would be a blast in our cars. It's not technically a hybrid system, more of a regenerative electrically powered nitrous system. The best way I've found to describe it to people is an 80hp, (160hp on the newer versions) nitrous shot that recharges by kinetic regeneration (movement of the drivetrain, flywheel, axle, or wheels).

It'd add a lot of unsprung weight to our cars though, given the system weighs about 53lbs, not including batteries or capacitors.

Alright Switch Backs and the Reverse Light LED's are in, now I just need to get a set for the rear turn signals and the DRL's and I am done.

The Lowering Springs are on now, looks good for now but lets see what happens when I get rims for the car.

Now on to the rest of the weekends projects... after lunch.

We'd have to either early before subway opens or after they close. They might not be too happy.
I used to be cool with the old management but they have new manager and they are sticklers
