Due to popular demand i'm now going to use a Tial V Band Stainless Housing. Hopefully that gives me more room. And switching to an external gate as well. Tial MVR or MVS.
Will show some pictures tomorrow |

I recently did some testing with some twin scroll on my personal car. It made more mid-range. Felt more responsive. But it surged the GT3076r, even with the ported shroud... and the 1.06 turbine housing.
Twin scroll is nice, but the housings offered don't quite flow as well as I expected. T4 is a good platform for twinscroll. But I'm not a believer in anything smaller. There is a trade-off in top end vs the increase in spoolup. I have interesting data to share however. |

also with twin scroll no v-band option. With mitsu's we haven't seen issues with twin scrolls running out of steam up top? The 9 turbo, easily out flows the 3 turbo, I think it has to do more with compressor housing design, than turbine housing design.

I won't be considering twin scroll until we get into larger turbo setups that require all cats take a hike. Then i'll put the turbo's up front.

I've had to catchup from over the weekend here. There was alot of talk of this and that, and I can say alot of you are just overthinking it.
Especially w/ the high RPM talk. Peak TQ is more important and far more dangerous. |

I think the GT28 series is the best option for now. 300whp is good, and the disco will do that easily. The GT2871r is a bit too big for the turbine size though, and looses points in my book. I like a well-sorted turbo, with careful attention to wheel size.
The GT30 with the T2 housing would be the best option for a decently powerful setup. GT3071r, t2 housing? .86 ar. |

I'd prefer v-bands over bolt flanges any day of the week.

I think it's a good call. The Vband has better packaging all-around, and the SS housings have better castings with better flow. Super-easy to work on as well. I don't see why there isn't more dedication to these bolt-less designs.

if you are complaining about teh few hundred dollars in price increase, for someone providing a better kit, I think you should rethink going FI. I for one praise Don for going v-band, as it saves time, and cleans up the build substantially.
