Bilstein B8 w/ RCE Tarmac springs install: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
So today I, with the invaluable help from @Extreme86, installed my new suspension. As of right now (2-3 hours since car was dropped from jack stands), I have dropped 0.4" in the front and 0.6" in the rear and the car seems to be even more on rails with the stock rubber, the Primacy HP tires really don't seem as bad as they were with the stock suspension.
The good is the suspension is now installed and the car is stiffer without being too harsh. This actually feels a lot closer to what I anticipated the car feeling like before I had test driven it at the dealer. The bad, due to user error with the torque wrench I sheered two studs off the front left strut. This resulted in an unplanned trip to Lowe's where a M8x30 bolt and lock washer were purchased to replace the studs. They actually seem to be stronger than the studs. FYI, you are supposed to torque the nuts on the studs to 17 ft-lbs and I accidentally torqued to 18 and it sheered off two studs.. Finally the ugly, a "2 hour" install which I expected to take 6 hours ended up taking 9 hours (with a dinner break included). Verdict: I would do this again in a heartbeat. I need to get an alignment done to ensure toe is within spec, but even before that I am super impressed with the effect on handling. With stock rubber and full nannies, the vsc is engaging far less than it did before.

Fronts have the progressive coils on the bottom and the rears have them on the top. Odd yes, but it works I guess. I'll double check when I get home, I guess it would fit with how the install for the fronts went if they're upside down.

I followed the guide by @DarrenDriven http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=10842&page=7 and that has the springs with the progressive coils on the bottom in front.

Looks like I won't really be needing rear camber adjustment just yet, this is on the upper limit of the negative camber I was looking for. (-1.5 to -2.0)

Looks great! WRB will forever haunt my dreams for not waiting for one to come in.. But hey SWP is pretty awesome too. But i was curious to know where you got your replica oem diffuser. I can't justify the price of the actual oem one..

I drove Lime Creek Rd (A very fun, albeit short twisty road here in Austin) today, and the new suspension was AWESOME! The car is very planted to the ground in the sharp turns by the lake. As I had mentioned in the "What did you do with your BRZ today" thread, it felt like the first time you had sex with your new girlfriend. I am currently using OE wheels and tires (yes, the Primacy HP ones everyone hates) and the car had a TON more grip in the corners. I am still peeling out even when driving like Miss Daisy, that hasn't changed. It is amazing what a couple degrees of rear camber can do for you.

I'll go take some cell phone pics next time I am out (which should be not too long from now).

Actually it was Trevor's, he offered it to me since I had given him my e-brake boot when I swapped it to leather, but the diffuser didn't fit the look I wanted for my car so Trevor gave it to the next person that wanted it and was part of the group in Austin. You were the lucky next person
