Currently have a Golf MK V diesel as a daily, but I come from the awesome Mazda Familia GTR (tuned) and an MR2 mkII (3S-GE).

Ok.

I previously owned a BMW e46 M3 convertible which I had for about 6 years and was therefore due a change. I always hankered for a more "useable" Ferrari, something with more than 2 seats, something I could drive frequently (ie 2-3 times a week, since I travel a lot, that would be my DD). So I looked at Mondials and 456's. The 456 was a lot more expensive but I concocted a plan that would get me the 456, for the price of my M3 and therefore went for it.

Unfortunately, as you can guess, its all gone a bit pear shaped on me and the car is not able to be registered, so I am now in the process of examining legal options to recover some of my money.

Now none of this would be particularly worrisome (other than the loss of a few $$ which my M3 did a good job of in depreciation over 6 years anyway) if it wasn't for my wife, who was against my cunning plan in the first instance and now loves to remind me just how dumb I was and asks at every other opportunity "what the hell was I thinking???"

During a day of casual conversation with the wife, she asked what I would replace the "shitheap" (her pet name for my Fazza) with. After a few moments I said I was thinking of an Alfa 147 GTA......well she literally hit the roof...no more Italian Crap, haven't you learnt your lesson, your car preferences border on insanity, we will never have any money to retire on, etc etc etc. So thinking quickly I said.....well Toyota have just brought out this interesting little sports car that I like....she said "what? a Toyota?"......I said yes....she says, show me!.

So I got on the web, showed her the pictures and the very next day she drove me down to the Toyota Dealer to order one......apparently so that I didn't do anything else stupid!! So now I am awaiting delivery of my new Toyota 86GT, bought to replace my "shitheap" (Ferrari 456)

See.......long story!!
Some people get to have all the fun! Sounds like your wife is a good woman. Willing to give you shit but also onboard for supporting a husbands brilliant but stupid plans. Can't ask more from a wife than that!

Good luck playing the waiting game. I am not playing it very well right now.

Im coming from a 2010 Lancer GT and my precious Honda ESI. both running on DOHC. Sucks that we cant Modify much on the Engine Side here in UAE as it will be terrible for registering your car. Even I am Living from where Gas is cheaper than Water i would still go for this kind of HP and the Best Handling ive ever Driven. I guess making it a V6 as compared to most of the Sports Car Here. I can say the Balance of this Car made it PERFECT and Fun to drive.

Took me FOREVER to get her back to bone stock... uhhggsgsgs

you can go drifting at an astonishing price of $160 per set of rear tires that wont fall apart, for the mustang you're looking at $600 bucks

almost 4x as much fun for the same price in tires... hrmmm

FRS - 1
302 - 0

miss the acceleration? get a turbo, problem fixed!
Turbo is already in house,....along with coil overs/clutch/wheels and tires/....but this car no matter what the mods ,...cant replace the torque down low and the versatility of that Roadrunner engine in the Boss.

02 Honda Civic LX after driving that thing for 6 years I chuckle every time I see someone say the FR-S isn't fast. The thing is like a freaking rocket compaired to that 127hp Non-VTEC Civic.

I thought you said you didn't see the value in getting an FR-S? Or was that another Celica guy? I'm losing track of all the GT-S owners on here, lol. Congrats anyway!

I sold my '07 Suzuki GSX-R 1000 and beater/daily '03 Mitsubishi Galant to make room for my BRZ. It was a spur of the moment decision and I'm glad I made it. The bike saw less than a handful of miles this year. Only made it out once after parking it when I got back from TX2K12. The poor thing was neglected and covered in dust and cobwebs. The beater was easy to let go.

I told myself this would get tint and just be my daily. I've broken that deal already and it still has the paper plate. I hope this doesn't turn into another project.

The wife's 97 mercury grand marquis, she gets my 02 Volvo S60 AWD, drove (still have) a 96 civic coupe with a gsr swap before the Volvo though I'm sure the civic is soon to go now that I have an exciting car again.
