I love this car. I have no complaints (wait one...audio system is a little weak cause I'm an audiophile, however it's a small issue and not my daily car) and for me it brings back the 90's. I don't care for all those luxury packages etc...i think it's the reason is disliked my 335i. Too boring and not raw enough.

The 86 just gets to the point. Steering wheel and pedals. Everything else...who cares.

I'm the guy who dreamed about rx-7's and supra's. Sadly I was a kid back than....now I'm old enough and the 86 was my first new car (bought the subaru and bmw used) and i love it as much as i love initial d and Keiichi Tsuchiya

I think many people don't know the history of these cars and just want POWER!!!

It's a little JDM gem and i love it everyday. Sure to some people it's slow or gay....but to me it\s perfect and I already have a huge list of parts I want in the future.

Want heavier sheet metal and (very slightly) better paint check out the Hyundai line or a nice Mustang. What?
OP asked a simple question, I answered honestly.
Telling people what they can't expect and telling them to check other brands based on their opinions, which do not agree with yours, is really arrogant on your part.

Well, I could have "3Med or Plastidipped the whole car", but I forgot to bring my Magic 8 ball to the dealer to ask it before buying if the paint was gonna be, in MY opinion, this crappy.
I could have also asked it if by answering a simple question and having an opinion, I was going to be attacked by a simple minded, name calling, one way thinking, nimrod like you and could have avoided to even log in.

My apologies (sincere not sarcastic)!
In rereading my post it does come across much heavier than I intended.
That is certainly the problem with the written word where inflection is lost and meanings can be misinterpreted. It doesn't help that we all tend to go into these things half expecting to be challenged.
Just meant to point out that these sort of things will happen with cars at this price point.
Didn't mean to imply that YOU should get a Hyundai or Mustang (OH GOD NO NOT A MUSTANG) just that they are good examples of what happens when you increase the steel thickness (increased weight, cost more, loss of some handling, etc.)
The ironic part is that on the way in to work this morning I took a stone/debris hit to my front fender and am no longer dent free!

Again sorry for the misunderstanding!!!!!!!!

I'm only 3,000 miles into having my a '15 BRZ S.B., but I am absolutely loving it so far. This is my first ever 'fun' car (recent empty-nester, so no need to shuttle kids around any more). I'm in the car 99% of the time by myself, so no need for 'functional' back seats. Just returned from my first major road trip (1,400 miles RT) and it performed like a dream. I've been ecstatic to constantly be getting better than 30MPG (normal driving = 50/50 city/highway) and it averaged 34 MPG on the trip, with the AC on and driving up and down mountains). Simply put, I finally have a car that I eagerly anticipate driving. For my driving style, 200HP is plenty, especially with the car being so light. I love how it hugs the curves and how you stay upright, rather than succumbing to G-force throwing you sideways.

Chief complaint (and it's been voiced many times in this and other forums) is how easily the paint dings. I had it Lux-coated at the dealer when buying it, and that seems to help with bird crap and bug splashes and the like, but not with routine pebbles on the road. I've been manic about washing it (it's SO gorgeous, y'know), and every time I do, I find another chip somewhere (probably only noticeable to harsh scrutiny...but that's what I'm doing). The touchup paint is getting a workout, and that bums me out. I've heard that paint for all manufacturers has gone soft with regulations, but geez.

Really? Are you trying to impress the cool kids?

Typical, be an uncalled for jackass, being called out for it, and like a retard who wants the last word responds with anything, in this case an informal fallacy idiom, just to sound smart and hide what a simpleton you really are.

...or I could be wrong and you are being a genius right now, either way I'm done addressing you.

But it doesn't take a genius to note that almost every post you're making is hyper hypocritical...lol

Satisfied level -> optimum

I've been through way too many cars since I was 16 (24 now). My first car was easily my favorite car. Naturally though as I put a ton of work, time and money into it. I had a 98 Impreza RS that I eventually swapped with an 06wrx complete driveline and everything. It was a whole new car after that. I deeply regret selling it but hey.

Back to the BRZ. when I saw subaru was coming out with a 2wd sports car, I was pleased, it has fantastic styling and really just an awesome personality. I told myself it would be the first new car I would buy. Fast forward to now, just purchased one, never thought I'd buy a new car so soon. I love this thing. Basically 0 complaints with the car. Easily my favorite car next to my RS. I wish it had more power (kind of slow sitting up around 5300 ft here) but it's not terrible. Sound system could use a bump in power but that's fixable. Beyond that, even in stock form it handles fantastic and is a blast to drive. I get a ton of looks while driving this guy around town, had multiple random people come up and talk to me about the car. I have already received a few chips and whatnot, some plastic noises in the cabin as well but I keep reminding myself it's a Subaru and they aren't perfect, never have been. Needless to say I'm a huge fan

Absolutely love it. I've had it for a month now, and I spent two weeks of that month away on business. I missed the FR-S more than I cared to admit, and I still haven't been disappointed with it upon my return.

I agree it could use a bit more power and a bit more torque, but it's so fun right off the lot that I'm not complaining. There's a ton of options to make it unique, and I can't wait to start working on it.

Every so often when no one's around or everyone's behind me at the light I just go all out with it and there's the biggest smile on my face.

I think it deserves a good detailing this weekend for being such a fun drive...

Overall fairly satisfied. I could have gone for a little more sound deadening, better quality stereo, and less overall rattles, but everything else is good.
