The big question still has not been addressed!

Did they find a clock that isn't left over Dollar Store stock from 1992?

What do you mean???? That's the highest tech in the car! With such simple engineering, there is probably great weight reduction behind the electrical components that go into making that miraculous clock that prove to provide improved acceleration and better gas mileage. Don't shame such an intricate design!

We must maintain the purity of the sports car.
Complicated clocks only adds unnecessary complexity and cost!

Its a drivers car, aint nobody got time to fiddle around with clocks!

I will say I do appreciate the simplicity of the clock twice a year, when I have to change it. Simple, push here, done.

Now, they could have just let the headunit display the time and eliminated the weight altogether.

head units add weight!!
It should just be a hole with a trim "kit" that you can just insert any phone or tablet into.
bring your own head unit!

Well, if you want to eliminate weight, there is a sundial built into the dash right at the midpoint of the windshield (at least on the '13 FRS). You just have to orient the car correctly to get the current time.

A mechanical wind-up clock would be the simplest, purest timepiece in keeping with the minimalist nature of the car -

http://classiccarclock.com/history-of-car-clocks.html

If a wind-up clock is good enough for a MIG fighter jet, it's good enough for the BRZ.

There will be a Porsche pack with an analog clock and colored seat belt stitching for an additional 10k.

I actually like the 80s-spectacular clock. I always thought it was an homage to the AE86's 7 segment clock.

Oh so that's why they include a campus on the rear view mirror!

That was the optional Toyota clock for decades!
