Completly agree on having a black car. Every day I consider wraping it or trading for a WRB brz... For now I'll just keep it clean and enjoy the night rider vibe lol

I haven't recovered the rear deck yet, but i plan on using black vinyl that matches my black leather. Going to add seams that match the rear seat. I think it looks good. I think that i am going to trim the corners of the sheild. You can see them in the photo...

Care to share some details on the light you made? Looking to do something like this myself. The low mounted third brake light is not visible with my bike on the back of the car.

I got the LED strip from a friend. He has a box of them. (100 or so) I think it is half of a Suburban LED brake light strip, or from some truck or SUV.

I cut the reflector down on the end three LEDs because they are angled.

Anyway, it is 12 volt already. Which is nice.

My first attempt at installing it I blew the Stop fuse. More research: I found that LED lights often do this and need a resistor. They suggested a 6ohm 50watt. (crazy in my opinion) I installed two 10ohm 10watt in parallel, to make a 5ohm 20 watt resistor. Works great, and the resistors do not get hot.

The shield is made from a piece of vinyl siding. Sounds funny, but was exactly the right shape. Plus, I am DIY Guy!

You can just see the corners, that I am going to trim off. Was not sure till I got it installed how big I wanted it. Other wise the shield is invisible. (unless in back seat) But, who is in the back seat? The shield is smooth on the back, and is hardly visible through my tinted rear window. The light is bright, and works well. I don't have a pic of it on yet...

I made or installed all my mods. (leather included)

Bonus pic:

Just installed a Don't Panic button cover on the hazard button.

I have played with the idea of repainting it in the 10 Series silver

washed the car.

We have an Australian slang term "a shower of shit" e.g. as in your car may go like one.
Well yesterday I put new meaning to the expression as I was driving at 100kmph behind a cattle truck and a green substance began running out the back of it. Before I realised what was happening it was all over the windscreen and paint. Luckily there was a car wash nearby so I washed it off before stomach acids or whatever ripped into the paint. I have anti-bug mesh over the grille so the radiator escaped but an organic fragrance permeated the cabin.

This is NOT a load of bull. It really happened!!

Better get some car perfume. Stripper Scent from Chemical Guys is pretty good

Not today, but this weekend. My son and I drove the FRS to the air show. Afterwards, we returned to where it was parked and it was just out there in the field with no other cars around it. It was almost as if it had enjoyed the day as well and was just waiting to drive home in such great weather. It was nice feeling returning to it unharmed. A good end to a good day.
