You have three options really. Purchase a fan shroud from LJ @FullBlown, fab up your own metal tabs/mounts to place the fans on the radiator, or do what 95% of us have and use the plastic fan securing zip ties that come with the kit or can be sourced at any auto parts store as Ironsquid mentioned.

Depends on how you define a bad thing and where exactly the hot exhaust gasses are dumped. If it dumps in the engine compartment then you are just adding to the underhood temps, if you cut a hole in your aerodyamics and it is dumping through your underpanel, then you have hurt your aero. Unless you really like the sound of a screaming open dump tube, then I would say there are only positives to a properly designed recirculated dump tube.

I have some of the plastic insert tabs that go into the slim fans that come with the FB base turbo kit, the ones that fit into the fan body and that the zip-ties go through to hold the fans onto the radiator.

They are yours if you want them, PM me.

Gotcha. Mine seems to dump out the bottom through a small hole. I can't imagine a hole that small is going to make any noticeable aerodynamic difference for me doing any of the racing I do. I could see how it might effect an actual race car where every inch is carefully crafted, but for most that probably wouldn't make much of a difference.

And as far as the sound, i'd really like to hear a video of this terrible sound you are referring to. I seriously am not experiencing it. I still think it's due to my fairly quiet exhaust. That or maybe I simply enjoy it opening up a little when boost hits.

A dump tube has 0 muffling/resonators/cats/turbine so yes it gets really loud on a car that has a normal moderately sporty exhaust. If your exhaust is deafeningly loud already then the dump tube wont make a difference.

A upgraded shroud would help you a lot, especially in the brutal summer + traffic. But you can get away with an oil cooler easily
