We don't like when our dogs stand on the table. In reality we don't mind but guests seem to hate it when they come over for dinner.

EDIT: Wait - Are they both stuffed?

Poor Dot has lost the use of her back legs on Wednesday. She has been wobbly a couple weeks and was on a muscle relaxer and pain relief. We’re trying to figure out wtf to do about the 10k+ costs on MRI, spinal surgery, etc.

Here’s Bruno keeping her company.

I feel your pain. Bella, our previous Newfoundland, had the same issue. Ultimately, we made the hard decision, she was in so much pain (and was 10 years old, which is very senior for a Newf).

Best of luck making your decision.

Not mine, but was sent a photo of them this weekend. Two "brand new" Newfies (less than 8 weeks old) at a friend of a friend who's dogs just had a litter. They grow up so fast...do want...must resist...

Thanks everyone, she’ll be 12 in January. Doesn’t seem to be in any pain unless torqued weird or something when she’s picked up. My wife texted me today that she was wagging her tail this morning. Then sent me a video of her swishing her tail in her sleep.

Hopefully this all points well in a direction that there’s a favorable prognosis with medical attention.

Is there a chance you could do the wheelchair thing for her back legs? Haru and I have come across a couple dogs on our walks with little/no use of their back legs, so their hind quarters rest on a wheelchair type thing and they walk with front legs/roll the wheels. The ones I've seen seem happy enough.

The rear leg car is part of the overall strategy. She was in the wagon last night for our walk. We pulled her out on community lawn for her to sniff and being basset, she got to sniff the neighborhood from the wagon
