So I live in a housing devlopment where the entering road has a speed limit of 45 mph. The general consensous is to not drive the speed limit for the people who live in the local area, and I get those asshats that drive 30. It happens on a daily basis, legally without running people off the road, how can I fix this? I cant fix stupid, but I can make it very obvious the speed limit is 45, right?

Do you really want old people, who can only "see" and "react" at 30 MPH ...... driving on the same road with you ....... at 45 MPH .......... ?? ......

Yes. Ofcourse the legal process of getting anyone over the age of 65 to retake their drivers test every 5 years is blocked by the AARP because of "segragation".

I find it hard to believe getting crash data on old people or caused by old people is difficult to compile, because we all know old drivers have a stigma. Not all, but most. There's a stereotype, can't really have a stereotype without alot of the same anicdotal evidence...

Also falls under the same philosophy, if you cant obey the rules of the road (like a speed limit) dont drive on the road. Im not sure why thats so hard to understand.

It's called a speed limit, not minimum speed. I'm not sure why that's hard for people to understand either.

isnt it pretty common to drive at the limit though? it also doesnt help theres only 1 sign and its before the development. there's also a law that says you cant uphold traffic by 5 cars. which is pretty normal for this road. 95% of the time Its not 5 under its 10.

http://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.61.425

edit: I cant remember where I got the 5 car limit, but regardless.

Ooo, that's good stuff. I didn't know about that rule. More people really should pull over if they're leading a train.

Well, I get your point. Do most people drive well below the speed limit? Oh, and is it a brand new development?

No ive been living there for 15 years. yes, 95% of the time its atleast 10 below. happened 3 times today, all from cars exiting housing developments that are on that road, so they frequent that road often enough, they should know the speed limit.
