It's the rules that are messed up, no testing for new technology? Ridiculous!

All of these rules are as a result of trying to cut costs. But first of all, are they really? Is Mercedes spending less than if it was completely open?
My thinking is leave the engine rules more open between seasons, but cap selling costs to customer teams. If Mercedes wants to spend half a billion dollars to have the best engine, that's fine, but other teams will be able to have said engines at a reasonable cost. In-season changes can still be regulated, but less-so, and updates must be provided to customer teams within x-number of races (for a price, and teams could, of course, choose not to update to save money). |

The Kimi dive-bomb failure was wonderful to watch. Such a pro move. Did he think Bottas was going to just let him by when he had the line into the corner?

He came from so far back, no way Bottas would have thought he'd be there. If Bottas had gotten lucky and seen him there, he probably could have stayed wide, let kimi fly by and miss the corner. Kimi would have either lost the position back trying to get back on the track, or been told to give back the position for going off track and gaining time. No chance to make the corner. Real shame for the younger Finn.

Poor Bottas...
Nice to see three different racing suits on the podium...can't remember the last time I saw that...

Current Austin, TX weather conditions: rain, rain and more rain. It will be a wet F1 race. Temp's OK though.

One bad thing about the location of the COTA: It is in a part of Travis county prone to flash flooding. This could prevent many people from actually getting to the track. Flash floods are freakin' dangerous here, because we have about a foot of soil and then solid limestone beneath that. Once the soil is saturated, everything else runs off into the local creeks. We have a saying: "Turn around, don't drown."
