Female. Got my Raven FR-S MT yesterday. Went driving around all the corners I could find during lunch today....

I've always loved cars, but I can't say I know as much about them as I would like to. My other interests (computers... other tech gadgets) have always taken priority. I'm learning though...

Now, sometimes I come off as not liking cars because I'm not all that interested in power. To me it's always been about handling. My first car was a 1991 Nissan 240sx (which I morn the loss of to this day) and my second (the one I traded in for the FR-S) was a 1995 Honda Prelude. Neither were very powerful cars, but the 240sx at least had brilliant handling (in my opinion). The Prelude... well... I do think it's still better than a lot of the new options in terms of driving feel.

While all the other possibilities (Genesis Coupe, etc) are obviously more powerful... they are just... too big... too heavy... and they just don't *feel* as good as the FR-S. It is just such as nice little car...

This past weekend I actually met a girl who was into cars. I asked her what she drove, and she told me she drove a bimmer, but she had an H22 swapped Accord beforehand. Blew my mind... lol

The real question is did SHE do the swap or buy it that way?

Sounds like the story of my life when it comes to that. Apple's WWDC is coming up and I'm sure at least two things from there will interest me in upgrading, not to mention the iPhone 5 with LTE.

I'm with you on the handling versus power. Having power is fun but it's no fun if you can't put the car where you want. Reminds me of the countless Top Gear episodes where they have something like the new AMG up there that is like riding a bull even in a straight line!

I know a lot of people were disappointed with how the FT-86 didn't turn out to be the super monster hybrid car that some were expecting but I think they did it right for the true car enthusiasts. Even from an engineering and tech standpoint, the FR-S/BRZ are neat cars (Boxer with direct injection, the electronic power steering design, etc).

Sorry about the confusion on that post. I was indeed referring to the total number of colors that the twins come in (the 6 shared between Subaru/Toyota plus the exclusive color both companies have) being 8, which is a "power of two" number (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc.). Being a computer programmer by day, I inadvertently nerd out on numbers sometimes.

Sadly, I'm in the same boat as you. Coding all day, I almost thought I didn't get it because that's all I was thinking of was 2^3 (or should I say 1 << 3), heh.

That is a given

Oh, I would certainly take more power if it was combined with handling like the FR-S. Those cars tend to be a little out of my price range though...

Holy Carp, I just realized you wore socks and sandals when you went to buy your new car.

Shoes actually, not sandles, i'm not a sandle type of girl, shoes or boots, and I almost always wear knee high, over the knee or thigh high socks, well except when it gets really warm in the summer, lol!
