Audio Manual

If you're interested the manual for the base radio is here.

I don't know, I've owned a slew of those. This one is a swimsuit model compared to most of those.

It don't look too bad blowup like this, but they could have done better for the price. Oh well its an easy swap out to something aftermarket that will look better.

And I believe this is the stock radio on all Scions now....

I have only one impression of BESPOKE, and that's when seeing a Youtube review online of driving at night. How the hell do you people get used to a damned LCD (even at low brightness) shining all the time when you're driving? I would rip that damned thing out and throw it away. Thank god for the stock radio. LCDs are crap, they have backlights, and they glow. I don't need one in my car. At least AMOLED is fundamentally better, no backlight, and with a black background, it MIGHT be suitable in a car. But even then, there is no purpose whatsoever for that crap in a car.
You do realize that there are other things you can do besides twitter and facebook. The idea that I can use my smartphone as a gps and pull data throughout and place it on the screen isn't a terrible thing. Honestly, I agree with tripjammer, I think Scion should have included the Bespoke unit. If it is a matter of value and I would rather have the Bespoke instead of the standard Pioneer for the same price.

Thanks for mentioning that, hadn't occurred to me - I'd hate that as well, have to keep that in mind when testing and optioning car. But presumably for the non-bespoke version if you had the audio off the screen would be off.

Maybe press the unlock button twice to get the trunk open from outisde?

I am surprised that the seats fold down as one unit instead of 60/40. Then again I'm still dreaming that I'm actually going to be able to seat people + long items in the backseat...

Man, I was planning on waiting a year or two and buying someone's used vehicle, but now that this information is out I want one

And that radio looks like it's from 1980. It's like the non-red stitching on the hand brake: doesn't fit. I don't know what Bespoke is and Google was less than helpful (there are MANY things named Bespoke and every car audio-related search came up with entries about companies that have Bespoke but nothing about what it is) but I kind of gathered what it is and I think I want it.

I think that has to be a mistaken photo.

Those HU buttons - good luck manipulating them with gloves on!

It looks the same as the tC key picture, so they may have just used a stock photo.

There isn't much out on BeSpoke yet other than its based on Pioneer's Zypr technology. From what I gather it makes your headunit a display for apps running on your Smartphone. Everything is streamed to it, so it requires a connection to do anything, including NAV. So far, I don't see anything with it I want or need but I'll hold judgement until I see the upgrade price and get a chance to play with it.

And LCD'S have been in cars for years, They have antiglare screens now. This is 2012 and not 1989.

And yeah the bespoke can run lots of different apps, and you can create your own. Its free to be a developer. You know those driving info screens that the GTR has? There is a Zypr app for that....

Oh and twitter and FB updates are voice controlled.

Sure hope you are wrong because that is just dumb-ass stupid, I can't imagine they'd be so idiotic.

Scenario: You are walking to your car with both hands full of stuff, your key fob in your fingers. And now you have to put some of that stuff in the snow/mud/rain so you can get at a button you can't even see from a standing position? What a POS design, somebody's head should roll for this if it's if true.

The LCDs today are no different in the light respect than they were 20 years ago. LCDs require a backlight, that is why they are generally deficient techology, and why OLED is much better. Regardless of improvements in resolution, etc, there is a goddamn glowing screen in your car, and in my opinion, has no purpose for being there. I've seen videos of the BRZ driving at night, anti glare or no anti glare, it glows and just looks like crap. There is nothing 'Bespoke' does that a current Android phone can't do better now. Not that I would use that when driving either. Atleast with AMOLED, they could make the screen mostly black and there would be absolutely no light from the black sections. That's an ideal compromise, but I still don't see why the hell you'd have to be doing all that crap when you're driving. But that's just me.

Anti-glare coatings only work on external light hitting the screen; they absorb/diffuse rather than reflect the light. They have no effect on screen glow coming from internal backlighting.
