Hey guys -- a few things for future events. I just learned from one of the ladies who was at the adjacent bbq site, that apparently our group left a lot of food and trash behind at our site and they ended up stepping in and cleaning up after us. That actually upsets me to hear it and we should be better than that.

I feel bad because I had to leave early -- if I had stayed, I would have made sure we cleaned up our site properly and not left it for others to do.

There was also to a small degree some immaturity and irresponsible behavior. Yeah we broke the rules and drove on the area we weren't supposed to, and I admit I was partly at fault with that, but the guys working there were pretty nice about that and simply told us we shouldn't be there. They were cool. But then in return some of our group followed up with revving and burnouts which is just spitting in the face of the people who were kind to us. Keeping up this kind of behavior will just make us look bad as a group and we won't be having nice events like this in the future if that is how we are perceived as a group. I'm expecting more from our group and I will be doing my best to make sure that won't happen again with any event I'm involved with. That might mean excluding people or asking people to leave if they have repeatedly acted not in the best interests of our group. That is not something I'd enjoy doing, but I hope you all understand the need to maintain a standard, and that you would want to do the same in my shoes.

I didn't get there until about 2 or 3 yesterday. Luckily a handful of folks were still there and I was able to check out some of the rides. It was such a beautiful day. That park is truly of one the hidden gems in Oakland.

Hopefully I didn't freak you guys when I pulled up. If you were there, you'll know what I mean

Nice stealth look! I would try using something like a credit card sized piece of plastic to push the bubbles out towards the edges. Not sure if mr. decal expert @NorCal_Guy has any other ideas.

If you have any bubbles get a needle and prick a tiny hole in the center of each bubble then flatten it out

Damn, sounds like I missed out on yet another nice event (even worse, in my backyard!). Sorry to hear about the hooning, I was actually pretty surprised to see some of those pics at the point area, didn't think people were allowed to drive up there. From the drives, seems as though we had a pretty mature, chill group, but there are bound to be some eventually. Let's not get a "reputation" folks, we already get enough attention as it is.

maaan, that kinda sucks. Didn't want us to have that kind of image, especially after conducting this email regarding the park and their requirements a couple weeks before the meet. I said we weren't that type! lol, fail.

Hello and thanks for your quick response. Our group is ft86club, which is a car group for the new Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ car owners. We are all a very chill and obidient group, and although we do like to take our cars to the track for friendly competition we all deeply condone street racing, and are against it. We understand and know what tracks and auto cross events that come to the bay area, and members who use their car for that purpose are smart. Myself and a few other members know about the 7th street street racers and want no part of it. Again, thank you!

If your group is that small, you are welcome to visit with us and barbecue at no costs. However, if the date you expect to visit coincides with a large group event currently on our calendar, there may be no grills available. You are welcome to bring your own pit as well. What day are you trying to come to the park? What car group are you with? By any chance are you the sideshow group that reaks havoc on our streets in the harbor and prevents our guests from driving away at times? (smile)

Hello,

I wanted to get my car group together at this park for a meet and greet/bbq. I was wondering if we're able to just roll in, park, and start bbq'ing? Or so we need some kind of permit or anything? Our car group doesn't consist of too many, maybe 10-15 cars with about 1-2 passengers each. Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Paul

Sounds too exaggerated. It's possible for another group of cars that were there after us. Or those nightly cars that were there Or maybe it was a pass history of another car group. Who knows....Wrong that we left a mess at the small grill. Wrong if there were any burnouts there.

Pretty tough to do burnouts when the OPD was there 5mins before everyone left...agreed on the trash, but that is not the blame of a single individual since everyone that left (early and late) didn't clean up...lets consider this a test/trial for the next one...

Another spot for future "meets" is here:
Shadow cliffs.
2500 Stanley Boulevard
Pleasanton, CA 94566

$6 Entrance Fee

I've attended a few NorCal SRT4 group meets here when I had my SRT4...way more parking available.
