The april5th weekend will be the deciding factor, assuming they let us drive one. Based on numbers alone, i'll be getting a c6 instead unless i'm convinced otherwise

I would do the same and DD it, except for the whole living in the Midwest with snow thing. We've already got a minivan for the dogs (which is f'ing bad ass), but I'm not driving a 'vette on snow covered roads, not even with Blizaks!

It hit right where I expected it to, under $25K manual, slightly over with Auto. I didn't expect them to undercut other similar class cars by much if at all.

For me, pretty much all that's left is the test drive. Anything else on my list is nearly twice as expensive and/or is half as economical to drive for the same amount of potential "fun".

I won't be purchasing at that price. Does that mean I don't get to go on the trip? Not a big deal really, I have an exam the day after we return anyway.

No. They never said you had to buy it. At this point they're not going to
move someone else up the list, so you might as well go I say.

No they didn't say that, but the dealer form we filled at had two signature spots. One for the initial time and one due around pricing.

Assuming they announce pricing tomorrow I'm guessing we'll get the email giving us notice that its time to go in and sign the price portion of the agreement. If you don't sign I would guess you are out and they move someone else up.

Of course you could always sign anyway since you still can drop out at the delivery or anytime in between. All conjecture on my part of course.

I need to double check the agreement, but I think you can say no up until the time you test drive your car.

You can but you do have to sign off on price. For me personally , if I knew price was a deal killer I wouldn't sign. That said nothing says you are required to drop if you don't agreement to the price. you could sign and stay in.

That feels morally wrong.

Agreed and why I wouldn't do it. had the price been out of the range I expected I'd be out. it wasn't so I'll see everyone in SoCal. hopefully we will get to drive it and I will know. Wouldn't mind if they give us $5000 Credit for mods though!

totally, at this point i'm not buying, but a test drive can change all that so i'm staying on...not to say i'll never get one, but with the amount that will be made, these wont stay over 20k (as a used car) for too long and that'll allow the aftermarket to decide if its gonna have tons of support too

If its only marginally better than, say, a s2k, i'd probably save 10 grand and pick one of those up for my fun weekend car.

Assuming I read this right you fall in the same category as me. The (pre)announced MSRP is not a deal killer for you. For some of the First 86 it seems to be, based on what you read here.

If it is a deal killer, I would say drop out now. But hey, there's no requirement to do it, it just feels right. I'll clink glasses with you in SoCal either way!
