Do you stand there and watch them do the smog check? Towards the end they will pop the hood (if it isn't already) and search around for emissions equipment and illegal parts. They will also go under the car to check the cats. They do this in a few minutes.

Lets see how long it can take it especially now that the weak point is no longer the clutch. |

I am guessing up to 350wtq is going to hold just fine. Any more than that and you are pushing the limits of reliability, but it may hold it for a while. And clutch selection will have an impact on transmission life. Sprung clutches save trannies.

That's crazy fast! Can't wait to see long-term durability results.

Looking to see how realistic this power level is for the everyday guy , 1/4 or road course guy. When SD tuning is ready I'll convert the car to that.Like I said I don't want to deliver a bomb to anyone, and I think Don feels the same way. I'm not sure what Don wants to do next other than go 10s with the way the car is now. It's his show so I'm game for whatever. John |

Just...why? I saw this type of thing in the late 90's. Boosting a car to all hell that was never meant to be that powerful. So much money wasted on constantly breaking parts. Have still not learned our lesson that these car are not drag racing machines, but are track monsters? Yes, you built a fast car, but for the same money I could have probably went out and bought a GT-R that will do the same times all day and still have a warranty and be street legal.

I'm really excited for a low compression, built motor, high boost, build on pump, for the people who plan on turning this car into a high hp beast who dont use e85. Maybe a gt35r

I've been following this thread and almost every other thread from the begining. While the "driver mod" improved on Don's time, it's Don's turbo that was the best mod, and not your stated "the driver mod is the best mod". That's what my statement said. Anyway, enough of this nonsense argument. Hats off to Don, and John, and everone else involved.

if 400hp is safe I might push to 300 whp I'm guessing that whats keeping the tranny alive is the low torque nature of the engine. we'll see. |

The car didn't do 14.5 last week @Hawaiian. It did 12.1. That is the point your missing. They shaved .8 seconds with better weather and better driver hence the driver mod comment.

I am seriously impressed with the horsepower/torque the stock internals are holding. Seeing the Crawford Performance engine pics, it makes sense.
