Project blackout underway ...

Began project blackout -
Next (final) steps - window tint and paint calipers black.

Not shown - ASC delete, chime delete, 1000 mile oil change.
Next - clutch spring delete.

FYI - was planning on putting on my Fumoto valve from the first Gen and found the addition of a new access panel on the bottom of the Gen2s that requires the removal of three bolts to access enough whereby you could manipulate the Fumoto valve. There is a small hole in the panel - presumably large enough that you could get a deep socket in to undo the plug and which would allow the oil to come out without making a total mess (though I doubt it - at the very least I believe oil will collect on the panel). Didn't try to find out since I already had the panel removed. Just used the existing plug and put it back.

I believe the answer is to cut that hole out enough for room to access the Fumoto valve (it looks like there is enough clearance for it to fit), but that is another question for another day. FYI - those of you looking for Gen2 guys to claim something is "better" about the Gen1 - here's one for you.

I, for one, didn't really have a choice, as the dealer didn't really allow me to spec the options on my car aside from Red MT Premium, and either toyota or the dealer added on a few things, like black lug nuts and the shift knob. Fortunately the price didn't go up based on these options from the price we had agreed to for the "Red MT Premium" spec.

All this being said the shift knob is very nice.

Two items?

@DylanJZA I only see one item there, am I missing something? I was just about to look into seeing if there were any sunshades made for our cars, so thanks for posting that! A few questions for you:

Is it available at Toyota dealers?
Hows the fit?

Price?
Would you recommend it?

Yes, there is an Apexi intake tube shown, but I'm not sure why it's not showing for you.

The sunshade is a Japanese market GR branded item available for the car, and as such is not available from US dealers. But it is available on eBay and Japanese car part retailer websites. I bought mine from Blackhawk Japan personally ($95USD shipped). Fits great as you'd expect, but it may be considered a little pricey for some.

I'm just saying it's a bit of a reach.
There are worse things on cars that don't make sense. Like for example, the device responsible for the GR86/BRZ's "active sound system" AKA enhanced engine sound pumped into the cabin. That controller + speaker combo is listed as around $500 on Toyota shop pricing.

I don’t like the way they break up the look of the rear.
