Cold Wheels on Warm Hubs.

Today was the first time I have swapped wheels/tyres at a track. As I was putting the street wheels back on after the event I noticed that the wheels I was taking off were warm, especially the fronts. The street wheels, unsurprisingly were cold. (I'm guessing the day didn't get much warmer than 12C). Are there any precautions that I should be observing here when tightening the wheel studs?

I wouldn't worry about it. Re-torque the lugs after a few miles and see if anything changed.

Hey that's not a fair comparison. He has a hottie spooning his wheels between pits to keep them warmed up for him

Torque the lugs properly, and you're good to go
